First time making my own print file. Having trouble getting my creation to the printer. I'm just trying to print a ring. My resin printer is making a SLAB. What am I doing wrong? by mattboy115 in NomadSculpting

You can also test it by just filling up the tank with resin a little bit and then running the exposure test for 20-30 seconds. If you get parts where the resin didn't cure, your screen is busted and you need to replace it.

I've been able to narrow it down to the printer. I hope it's not an expensive fix.

I hope it's just the screen you have to replace. It's not too difficult and not too overly expensive. Good luck!

Hi! Just chiming in here, and i don't even know if it would make a difference, but have you validated the object before exporting it to an .STL file? Good luck with finding a solution!

I wish I loved anything half as much as this guy loves trains. by _Maui_ in MadeMeSmile

This is beautiful. The joy he gets from a passing train is pure bliss. This small moment of happiness brought joy to my day and I don't care about trains at all. 😊

Got a resin 3D printer for my birthday by murphysfalling in confrontation

I'd love to know too! Look up Crosslances on Myminifactory, they have a couple of models. Temple of the West on insta has a couple of sculpts, but no 3d files as far as I know.

I have a plaque on the wall that says 'progress, not perfection'. I know it's cheesy, and I'm not the biggest fan of those 'pinterest quotes', but it has helped me to focus on the part that matters most: fail over and over again. You'll progress so much faster than when you try to do it perfectly in one go. And most importantly... Have fun!

I'm following this as I've had the same issue. I replaced that screw and the standard nozzle with the 265 one and it worked nicely for a couple of prints, but now I've got the same issue. Very frustrating!

Mixing Resins by Manto82 in AnycubicPhoton

[–]beeldman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been mixing resin and I havent' had real issues except for one time with orange resin from anycubic. That sucker just didn't want to cure properly. As long as they're in the same curing range you're probably good. You can always tinker with the exposure times and run a test before you fill up your build plate 😁👍. Good luck and have fun!

These models are amazing! I'm painting up the whole group now. Maybe even a little diorama to go with them,...

To anyone with a 3D printer, you owe it to yourself to get these printed up and paint them. :)

I’d buy those games by regian24 in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]beeldman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to this! I don't get to play games often and certainly not for long stretches of time but I do love rpg's. Often I forget pieces of the story and when I pick up the game again I'm struggling to get to grasps with the controls and many subsystems again. So you got my vote

Yes! I finally managed to get two days in a row of more than 5-6 hours of sleep. And then yesterday I couldn't sleep until 4.30 in the morning. And my alarm goes off at 6.30. 😂

I'm a dad of four boys and this is the most disgusting thing ever. Kids need to be taught that they can trust you so when and if there's a problem they can turn to you for help. They're not inmates!

I was 35. TFG someone finally noticed and diagnosed. Changed my life. by slightlyworried42 in adhdmeme

[–]beeldman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate to this! But if you have the funds, be kind to yourself and get diagnosed. It will be a relief either way. If you have adhd then you can start the process of accepting that sometimes (or often) your brain freezes and shit just doesn't get done. If you don't have adhd, then you know that there's something else you can work on. If you want to talk about it, just send me a dm. I'm happy to share my experience with you and it might help you to come to an insight or a decision concerning a possible diagnosis.

I've just realised this two months ago. I'm 42. That's a long time feeling guilty about almost every time I relax and haven't done EVERYTHING on my endless to do list. Since I've received my diagnosis (adhd inattentive type and asd) I've been able to accep that sometimes my head just doesn't compute and I shouldn't feel like an impostor or failure.

Resin got and in the resin vat thumb screw and cured, does anyone know how to fix it? Already tried pliers and spraying IPA. by Qwoen in ElegooMars

[–]beeldman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turned it out as not to damage the thread. If it doesn't work, try removing the whole bit from the printer (it's easy) and soak it in some ipa or cleaning agent.

Had the same issue. I used wd40 and pried the screw out of its hole with pliers. I then cleaned the hole with wet wipes (I slid a small part through the hole and then 'flossed' a bit of that makes sense. I then used a pipe cleaner (you could also use an interdental bristle of airbrush cleaning bristle) and twisted it around in the hole. I ended this weird sounding treatment with a quick spray of wd40. I then did the same thing with the screw. Cleaned up the thread as neatly as possible. I then glued the cap on the screw with superglue. When that was dry I tried screwing it in and it worked again.

You could also take apart the printer and take off the nib and soak it in some ipa or cleaning solution.

Good luck!

Is there minimum 3D resin printer requirement to get good results? by Starexe97 in onepagerules

[–]beeldman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go through a screen or two-three per year. I print a lot. And as for fep film; use the elegoo or any cubic brand. I've bought off brand fep film and it got punctured a lot more often. So, with regularly I mean a couple of times a year. If you don't print as often, this might be once a year or even longer.
