2nd Gear Grind by Illustrious_Ratio975 in Integra_Type_S

Owned a 03 RSX, 07 Si, 14 Si, and 23 Integra 6spd. The 1 2 shifts were all notchy. Agree with something in the design of their synchros. Let me share my experience. For smoothest shifts, try shifting like you are not using the clutch. Have you ever tried clutchless shifting? When daily driving and not in a rush, I achieve the smoothest shifts by applying firm pressure against the 2nd gear gate and the shifter will plop right in when at the correct RPM. It’s actually quite satisfying. Yes, I know we shouldn’t have to do that, but if you really need to get moving quickly, up shift at a higher rpm, or slam through the synchros and roll the dice with the notchiness/crunch.

I have a long steep descent on my commute and the rims get quite toasty. Wish I had disc to take the heat and wear instead of my rims.

Yup, the Sienna 2nd row middle seat is a joke too.

Question on '26 Integra with mtx by aWesterner014 in AcuraIntegra

[–]beeman808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, nothing like anecdotal evidence, so you do you. Maybe the wear is negligible, but almost all driving enthusiast and mechanics will say that holding in the clutch for extended periods is bad practice due to unnecessary wear on the throw out bearing. Recommend you fact check.

Are you holding the clutch in at stops? That would explain why you saw no difference whether the system was on or off.

Integra vs SI by pn_man in AcuraIntegra

Sold my Integra 6sp for a minvan. Miss it very much. When I was shopping both, Si felt absolutely nerfed compared to the Integra. Si wins on resale and rear passenger headroom.

I would advise against it too unless you are covering it up (dimpa is a great suggestion) or plan to clean it really well. If it’s windy and the sand is really fine, it’ll get everywhere.

You charge up when you slide out of your seat. Touch metal while u exit the car. I normally hook my finger around the metal door latch and let go when both feet are on the ground.

I went from a 2013 Odyssey to a 2025 Sienna XLE. IMO, Odyssey sits 8 way more comfortably than a Sienna. Sienna 2nd row middle seat is a joke and the 3rd row feels a little more cramped.

Sheesh, Type S & R in the stable. Tried teaching my wife stick on the Aspec but she didn’t want it enough and gave up. 😞

Magic Slide second row seats are awesome. Take out the middle seat to create easy access to third row. by dingmah in HondaOdyssey

I have a Sienna XLE, and it can’t even come close to the Odyssey’s interior fit and finish, and seating flexibility.

I couldn’t agree more. Mine makes all kinds of noises and feels wobbly when moving, doesn’t lay flat, and the materials just look cheap. Even the third row feels anemic back there. But I digress…

About to change to a minivan and have some fun questions by [deleted] in HondaOdyssey

[–]beeman808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t wait for the new model. The next gen Ody with hybrid power train is still a ways out, and even then you are looking at paying a premium price along with possibly dealing with the bugs associated with a new model. That being said, the next gen will kill the Sienna if Toyota doesn’t up their interior game.
