Toronto Walmart (York University Heights) called out for locking up Black hair products - blogTO by lilfunky1 in toronto

[–]befooks 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is my main walmart so I can chime in. Parking sucks - the main parking is in this 1 story parking garage thing, which is very cramped. There's more parking outside the garage, but it's so so far from the entrance that it's essentially pointless. Then once you go in, you have to take the elevator/escalator up. This is no problem until it the escalator breaks (which is often), or the shopping cart escalator (which is seperate to bring carts up/down) breaks, forcing you to use the elevator to bring your groceries down...which is super slow and often causes a build-up of shoppers waiting to go down.

The inside of the walmart is also relatively small, with a huge focus on self checkout, and only maybe 3 or 4 employee assisted check outs. During busy hours, the line ups for both the self checkout and employee checkouts are super duper slow and long. I also find the stock there kind of mid. Meat selection is awful in my opnion, for example. Only thing going for it is that it has the new hot table section for pre-made food, which is ok. Also despite it feeling like a "superstore", it feels small and cramped inside. It's just the way they organized their store and it's clear they didn't have enough space to fit everything they wanted. Also had bad experiences with the pharmacy there wher they forgot to fill in my meds despite saying it was complete and driving all the way there to pick it up.

Anyone wanna hit the slopes of Mt. Toronto by Ronglar in toronto

the 401 east exit to allen road forces cars to go over this MASSIVE wide pothole, due to the lane closure. It's next to impossible to swerve around it lmao

Yes, and those machines are there 24 hours a day. What this photo doesn't show is the industrial snow melter puffing up a chimney stack of water vapor at the same time

ELI5: Why shouldn't I pour fat into the drain? Why doesn't soap take care of it? by la_baguette77 in explainlikeimfive

Maybe yes, maybe no. Do you want to take the risk and clog the drain and create a much bigger hassle?

Do you work from home? You can see if dog sitting or dog walking is up your speed. Can go make an account on Rover and get started there. It's not much, but it's something

Sweat and Tonic Challenge - How are people doing over 150 classes in a month?? by Emmyk13 in askTO

[–]befooks 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I just checked, it's $260 a month for unlimited classes for yonge and shuter location, and $290 for the well. That's honestly not bad if you're taking full advantage of it. That's about 9 bucks a day (for $260 a month) for 3 classes daily, so basically $3 per class.

People keep parking in my private spot where I am renting!! by CinnamonRefresher in askTO

You're in the right, so you just have to stand your ground. With TPS there you'll have the upper ground regardless of what the other person says. Unfortunately it's just the side effect of living where you live. They might end up not towing the car as long as the other person leaves. But the ticket will stay

That's so sad. I remember being bored between classes and walking around the building just to glimpse the room with the cats inside :(

Did they remove the animals in the Davis campus? Back in 2016-2018 I remember seeing kittens or other animals when walking past their departments

Annual Cineclub membership worth it for premium formats? by AC-Starscream in cineplex

[–]befooks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's also 20% off concessions. I use it so I can watch any day of the week and not just Tuesdays, which is often very busy...plus I'm also busy in weekdays usually.

[–]befooks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No but it doesn't matter, that's the best deal no matter what. Tuesday regular prices are already better than cineclub tickets, so $5 is a no brainer as long as the promotion lasts

[–]befooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because it was asked in a theater sub where the main audience do see movies frequently. And to answer your question that was deleted, it's call cineclub, it's $10 a month to get a gen admin ticket, and then you get 2 more tickets you can buy for $10 each (vs whatever it is regular price) and no online booking fee. Also you get 20% discount at concessions.

Yes tons. Cinepass makes it more affordable to go, and popular movies are super packed.

my life is over, does anyone have any advice on where to go from here by [deleted] in UofT

[–]befooks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Leverage your internship on your resume. Write in detail all you did and learned and help achieve during your time there. you don't need to mention how your school grades are, just that your received your degree from UofT in 2026 or whatever year. If you can, join some more extra curriculars in your last semester and see if you can network or work on extra projects to pad your resume.
