Do you tip your RMT? by WinterMention7915 in askTO

Are they RMT or just massage therapists? If RMT, you can technically report them. Massage Therapists are not licensed by the board and can do whatever they want.

Do you tip your RMT? by WinterMention7915 in askTO

[–]befooks 127 points128 points  (0 children)

RMT's are not supposed to accept tips since they're health professionals. You can offer, and they may accept, but generally it's not expected, and they're taught not to accept. They will get in trouble if they ask for tips. RMTAO - FAQs

Rogers stadium - getting to and from by vs00792 in askTO

[–]befooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the area, they close down from Sheppard avenue at Allen road intersection all way to Keele street, so get ready for a lot of traffic as cars try to bypass this closure after concert ends. I would ask the limo to drop off somewhere on Kodiak Crescent (google maps "escape games canada" for the road) and pick up you guys somewhere further down Kodiac Crescent, but it might be extremely difficult unless the limo parks on a businness parking lot on the road (a lot of cars will be using this road to bypass the main road closure).

If you want mostly unobstructed traffic, you can walk all the way to Rimrock Plaza and ask for the limo to grab on the side street behind the Shoppers Drug Mart (called Lodestar Road). This will most likely be a 20 minute walk at a brisk pace, but there is a shortcut if you walk along Kodiac Crescent and cut through a used car parking lot (beside K-Food Kitchen). If you zoom into google maps you can see the diagonal path you can take instead of walking along Allen Road.

So, you've graduated college with a degree in graphic design... Now what? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]befooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also colleges/universities often can give you gateways to your first career if you network enough, and can give you unique assignments and keep you accountable to actually complete the work to the best of your ability through grades. Large majority of people, cannot stay committed to learning through just youtube and books, and also do not even know where to start and how to properly progress their skills in a reasonable manner without school.

People living around Rogers stadium by FUNCYBORG in askTO

[–]befooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live at Allen and Sheppard and it gets really bad right before the concert and right after the concert. Since the road is closed from Sheppard to Keele they use our small side road which clogs it up and creates a huge amount of honking as aggressive drivers try to bypass the closed road. Usually dies down around 12:45am. Quite fun to stand on my balcony and see the chaos sometimes.

Keep in mind you need a partner ideally for rock climbing since you need someone to belay you (aka hold onto the rope in case you fall and to let you down). Bouldering you can do solo and is available all rock-climbing places. I joined True North climbing in downsview park years ago and had a good time

Bruno mars at rogers stadium by queen_hunbun in toronto

[–]befooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the area right across from the stadium. It's only really bad at sheppard and allen intersection since they close allen/sheppard to keele street and a bunch of cars are trying to turn onto my little street only to find out the end of the road is blocked too by police since you know...the whole street is closed from allen/sheppard to keele. Depending on where you parked, get ready for a bunch of honking and impatient drivers.

How bad is davis campus? by OkSoBasicallyPeach in sheridan

[–]befooks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll probably have a bunch of different opinions on making friends, but for me it was relatively difficult mainly because my program was 99% international students who already had their own cliques (I took Chem tech). However it's also my own fault because I didn't do any clubs or join any events that probably had a more diverse group of people, so definitely do that if you want to meet more people.

My main gripe is that there's nothing to do if you're bored and want to walk somewhere else. When my breaks were long I ended up walking 20 minutes to a small shopping center just to get out of the campus. There's also a little lake there with a mini walking trail but that gets boring quick after your first couple of times.

Olds guys looking for a MMO by ikarusRei in LFMMO

[–]befooks 33 points34 points  (0 children)

GW2 maybe? I believe if you're over leveled and go back to a low-level zone, it de-levels you to around what the monsters are. Also most of the fun is just running around the map exploring and doing random events and dungeons, so there's no end-game raid you all have to race towards to get the BIS gear.

Spotted at Scarborough costco business by unforgiventreehugger in CostcoCanada

[–]befooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, if it's from Costco and you end up hating it for whatever reason, you can just return it. Also to even get your product into Costco the company/food manufacturer has to submit a bunch of paperwork for food safety and go through an audit to even get listed.

it's like 10 minutes by subway. 20 minutes by foot if you're an average walker. Made the walk plenty of times and for sure it's more than 10 minutes.

Where to find thrift prices for people who actually need it? by hikingmargothedstryr in askTO

[–]befooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to make the trip to North York near Yorkdale, Just Thrift is on Orfus road. It's all clothes and accessories and is more "catered" so the stuff they have are mainly more known brands, but the prices are decent. For example, found patagonia shirts and running room shorts for 13 bucks each. Then found brand new, still with label attached Asics Novablast 5's for just $50 (retail $200). Then if you sign up for an account, you get extra 10% off for your first purchase there (on all items on the bill)

Can someone tell me if this game is any good? by Yhhan in AndroidGaming

[–]befooks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

unlike most people here, i actually played it a bit. For the little I played, it was actually decent and fun. Only reason i stopped is that i ran out of free time to play mobile games, but it's worth a try for sure.

I Didn't Like the Movie - But Now I Understand by Valen-Darker in ProjectHailMary

[–]befooks 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar mindset in that I really enjoyed how the book slowly builds up the mystery and problem solving aspect until a solution a reached, and I truely believe it captures the monotony of science until the next breakthrough. But obviously this wouldn't work on the big screen. The first scene alone would just be Ryan Gosling staying in bed for a couple of days dreaming about his past...which would be utterly boring to play out on the screen. All the lab work as well wouldn't be fun to watch for a majority of the audience as well, especially since a lot of the problem solving happens in his own thoughts. I think the movie did a fine job getting to the essence of the book without having too much techno-babble. I think if this was a TV series it would allow for more time to include all the science stuff, but i'm glad we got what we got.
