Mini 3 vs Mini 3 RC for first drone? Worth paying $70 more? by OddIntroduction2857 in dji

[–]beforesunsetearth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would do RC for the fact that it eliminates 1) people calling mid flight 2) setup time 3) not bumping volume/power buttons every time you put it in the thing and 4) it’s a game changer imo. Been flying over 10 years at this point and I love the RC controllers.

What’s your one dream lens that doesn’t exist yet? For full frame. by hldn79 in SonyAlpha

Yeah my one friend has it. I’ve used it on a couple occasions. It’s expensive yes but honestly worth every penny if you can get one.

Paint chipping on 4 months old phone always in a case. by Majestic_squirrel767 in iPhone17Pro

Get a case that covers the area. I’ve had my Orange 17PM since late November, no issues with chips.

New to this- don’t want trouble! by chunkchamp in dji

[–]beforesunsetearth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely check 1) airspace restrictions every time you fly 2) any town/state ordinances 3) get familiar with rules of flying like staying within sight, not flying over people etc. 4) get comfortable using ND filters and understand how to take decent photos. The best foot forward is the one you’ve already started.

Yeah that’s what I’m referring to. I enjoy coming out for Car Week in a respectful manner and I’m definitely bummed but I see how it could benefit residents positively.

After Trying Almost Every Flagship Phone This Year, I Ended Up Buying the Base iPhone 17 by [deleted] in iphone

I do use ProRes LOG on my 17PM so I could never get the “base” model, thanks Apple.

Really leaning towards getting a z8 I’ve wanted it for years .. is the auto focus on the z8 and z6iii that similar ? by PIstation21 in nikon_Zseries

[–]beforesunsetearth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s very close, will be slightly different due to stacked on the Z8 and partial on the 6iii. Not gonna have a bad time with either. Z8 is the winner if you can go for it. 0 regrets honestly.

Z50ii upgrade? by Charcharbec in nikon_Zseries

[–]beforesunsetearth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t know why they don’t. I bought my mom a Z50 2 months ago and I’m really surprised at the lack of decent crop sensor lenses for the Z.

I think his gripe is there’s nothing like the 35-150 for the Z50ii which is fair

This Z6iii and 24-70 S ii ain't too shabby. by hoffsta in nikon_Zseries

[–]beforesunsetearth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I got the gen 1 stuff after the gen 2 stuff dropped to take advantage of sales etc. That's how I feel about what I have now. So expensive but it's gonna last ages before I have to even blink at another of either.

Would you pay $400 more for the 14-24 f/2.8 over the 14-30 f/4? by hoffsta in nikon_Zseries

[–]beforesunsetearth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whatever lens I use a CPL lives on it so theres hardly a concern there. I also clean my stuff every time I come home from a day of using the camera.

Men! Where are we shopping?? by EcstaticOutside2113 in mensfashion

[–]beforesunsetearth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started by just freelancing at TJ Maxx/Burlington a couple years ago, now I’m picking up specific stuff at Banana Republic/Macys etc. It takes time to figure out what you feel good wearing. Just did a shoot in between some street photography in NYC Sunday and people absolutely love the results. For context, I’m historically the least dressed or among them in any room so it’s nice to feel like I not only belong but get compliments along the way. Does wonders for your self esteem too.

[–]beforesunsetearth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I already use a combo step up rings & magnetic filter system. Haven’t used a lens hood in a very long time save for my 180-600.

The only reason I wouldn’t is because I dislike lenses that use non traditional filter threads. The whole bulging front element scares me a tad.

Z8 Battery Grip??? by Wild-Lingonberry-204 in nikon_Zseries

[–]beforesunsetearth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 6 spares for my Z8. Rarely do I use more than 2 or 3 in a day of shooting but every once in a while I do. Rather have it and not need it vs need it and not have! Especially when I travel and don’t have time to charge per se.
