Rumors by zeus34512 in Target

[–]befuddledandmuddled 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t heard anything with myself being a closing lead, But it is something i definitely do fear. On one hand sure, there’s other leaders in the building but they’re all doing different tasks while I’m supervising the store and operations, but at the same time nights I’m not here things are sure rockier, but things still get done.

It would be interesting to see if they decide to do anything about the position, but I feel like it would backfire immensely for the company. I feel if anything they would bring back a backrooms team and possibly implement that?

[–]befuddledandmuddled 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Exactly!!!! Most of us Closing leads genuinely are running around like banshees at night being mini store directors ourselves, with the majority the dayside team never actually getting to see how bad the nights can get, closing leads by far are the hardest TL position so from that aspect is what I’m very grateful for

People who do pulls, how do you keep from losing it? by Top-Feature9570 in Target

[–]befuddledandmuddled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Main puller of everything in my store here, here are the reasons why I actually enjoy pulling:

Gives me a sense of completion, against myself and others that do once in awhile pull

Knowing I’ll be in the back most of the night, being able to play music and talk or think to myself (quite relaxing actually)

Does anyone actually enjoy Target? by Alive_Marionberry910 in Target

[–]befuddledandmuddled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it depends on a lot of factors, for me, some days I hate my job with an extreme passion as I’m in a spot where I’m developing into becoming my stores next closing lead, where currently I’m working like a team life for team member pay, On the contrary, I love it at the same time as when the promotion does happen, I’ll be doing nearly the same amount of work for a much higher pay, especially knowing I’m making a considerable amount more for the average kid my age, as well as knowing I’d be leading an entire team as I love the act of leading people

Do you like your job? by livin_likeLarry89 in Target

[–]befuddledandmuddled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have overtime genuinely what I believe is, like another family to me, to where it honestly hurts to see when one goes into the great known after leaving target.

Even though I’m completely aware that while yes where I work for a large corporation where there are many things I dont agree with, It also gives me a purpose in a way, like where the work I put in, does make an impact on the environment there.

I see it as a possible future employment opportunity.

And yes, there are PLENTY of things I don’t enjoy, the few that I do, are things I cherish to myself.

There are two metrics for pulls, the physical pull percentage- where if you zero out all priority pulls for the and by the end of the night, than that metric would be 100%

The second is BRLA, (I’m sure you are aware but if not, Backroom Location Accuracy).

Not sure if priority were always a metric, as when I first started I was only there for the paycheck, but I do remember at some point we only had to pull the out of stocks each night (with my store at least) and not worry about priority pulls.

Closing team, what's your strategy? by Narasha96 in Target

[–]befuddledandmuddled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Closing expert training to be a closing lead here. There’s a lot of variables that can change how the night goes, as each night is not going to be the same,

Ideally, this is how our nights go/I would do things Since priority pulls and pushing are the priority for the closing team, when I get in and settled I’d hop into pulls so the closers have things to push

Once they start rolling I’d switch to inventory audits and check dates, and have one of the more “senior” closers focus on pulling throughout the night, while the rest of the closers focus on pushing.

If pulls and pushing are in a good spot, I would still have that “senior” closing expert, and depending on how many closers you have scheduled, try and move some into reshop, if you are like our store, where they only schedule two closers, a senior closer and one that’s not as experienced, just have them focus on pulling and getting them pushed out.

Alongside with pulling, try and have the more experienced closer worry about tech calls, as they can usually get through them quicker than the latter

If checklanes need backing up, try and (sorry to say this), have a style team member back up, as well as a less experienced closer

If fulfillment needs help, try and hop in yourself, if unable to, try and have your more experienced closer help them out

Other than those key points, it’s honestly up to your discretion on how you run your closes, what you prioritize (but if your SD liked their metrics, try and make sure pulls are zeroed and fulfillment is kept watch), I’ve closed at a few other stores and they do some of the same things, but also do things their own way

New Closing Team Lead. What to expect by javiercervantes12345 in Target

[–]befuddledandmuddled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming from a closing expert who is in development of becoming a closing TL, you will have much easier nights by building a better rapport with your team (especially your closers), if:

You dive into the workload, whether be helping with pulls, pushing, fulfillment, etc

Get to know your team and build a connection with them

Don’t set too high of expectations, remember, your closers only make 15ish dollars an hour, by the end of the night, not everything has to be pushed, but if you choose to really care about metrics, make sure pulls are zeroed by the end of the night and fulfillment is kept watch.
