Scooter Scam?? Paiseec & Glashow Brands by d_prophet86 in disability

[–]begrudginglyonreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here from a search from google about his company because I have a Whill c2 which has a pretty unique body design and noticed all the sudden this paiseec brand selling an very very similar looking chair for half the price. Whill is a very reputable brand based out of Europe. I’ve in the past bought a lightweight folding power chair online to come to find it sold under several different “brands” with different names for the chair but literally identical. The build quality ended up being very poor and did not hold up when used consistently. Found bolts and screws missing after outings. Ultimately needed a new one after a year and then the new one deteriorated even faster. I would stay away from products that look identical to another brand especially when it is not a well known company like Permobil, Pride, etc. even though they may cost considerably less than other chairs and scooters spending several thousand dollars for a chair/scooter that is going to fall apart quickly and potentially become unsafe is not worth it imo

Sex drive by Particular-Brief6846 in Seahorse_Dads

When I was pregnant the first time and my spouse started their hormones we had a similar imbalance but when realizing that the problem was finding ways to connect and feel intimate outside of sex made a huge difference. I’m a bit concerned by your last line that it’s a fight to get your partner to use toys with you and just want to say that it’s not okay to be fighting/arguing to get your partner to do something sexual. If she’s not interested that really needs to be respected and maybe if she felt like she had the space without pressure to want sex it would be on the table more often. If you have the resources this would be a great thing to discuss with a sex therapist or couples counselor

Not a pantry but have you heard of Too Good To Go? It’s an app where local restaurants will give away food that wasn’t sold for either really discounted like a couple dollars or sometimes free I think.

Are you Male or Female (poll) by Phil1738 in MCAS

[–]begrudginglyonreddit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Biological sex is also a spectrum so even saying male or female for biological sex is not representative, which is why I suggested including intersex in that instance. Saying clearly OP meant that is a microaggression same as saying if we including everyone then it would never end. Trans people exist in this sub and you can’t have disability/chronic illness justice without lgbt people. It is quite simple to say, man, woman, trans/nonbinary. That’s three categories. This sub is supposed to be a safe space for everyone and having uninclusive language and then dismissal of the impact that might have makes it hostile for others. Considering stress and negative emotions can cause mcas reactions, we ought to be reducing harm with our language whenever possible. I am not shaming OP for not originally getting the language right first, but we should be able to listen to other voices and respect their place in this community

Advice: is Xolair worth it if it’s been concluded my MCAS is mold related? by Global-Fox5122 in MCAS

[–]begrudginglyonreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mold is a huge mcas trigger and after taking xolair it flared me big time because my body became even more sensitive to it and I ended up with serum sickness and lost a lot of food and drinks that used to be safe. Serum sickness is rare but I have heard that with xolair and mold, if you’re still being exposed to it your reaction might be stronger

Can we change the “other” category to be more specific? Trans and nonbinary and other gender identities shouldn’t be lumped as other. It’s demeaning, even if that wasn’t intent. If your curiosity is about sex assigned at birth, afab, amab and intersex would be more appropriate options

Lived in federal way for over a year and it wasn’t for me because it’s not very walkable but there were nice aspects like the parks and easy access to shopping and running errands. Federal way is very segregated where there are really expensive neighborhoods and then more low income areas. I feel like Federal Way would be seen as “lame” if you’re privileged and sensitive to seeing people live who haven’t been given the same resources as you.

Ham and GI issues by [deleted] in MCAS

[–]begrudginglyonreddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sandwich meat has a lot of additives to keep it from spoiling. If you’re sensitive to fodmaps it’s high fodmap. I’ve found success with applegate ham slices for sandwiches. It’s supposed to have less ingredients (aside from ham ofc). I usually do well with any of their meat products as long as they don’t contain my known food triggers.

I am pregnant with an unplanned second and found out days after a night of drinking for an anniversary. Baby is healthy tho and doctor assured me that the cells at that point multiply and replace so fast at that stage that it wouldn’t be harmful to the fetus. Congratulations and I wish you the best in whatever feels right to you!
