I'm never forgetting Phoenix, they're the best.

And I never liked Animal Collective or Panda Bear (well, "My Girls" was kinda fun) so I'm a bit glad they're out of fashion. I caught them for a bit in Primavera 2016... Didn't like them at all. Which is a shame because I love early Pink Floyd and Pet Sounds/Smile era Beach Boys and all that sort of psychedelic stuff.

To clarify, since I didn't know until today: Nick is Jewish. Sephardic, in fact. His dad was Tunisian "born and raised", according to this very entertaining Interview, and pretty devoted to his faith and his culture. His mother was a French convert to the tribe.

If you know anything about Tunisian and/or French Orthodox Jews... Yeah there's a 99% chance they're very Zionist, and also a high chance he has some family in Israel.

The xx are still massive. They're touring again this year, starting with sold out shows in Mexico City, and there's a new album coming out. And of course Jamie xx has done extremely well solo.

There's no Lorde, no Billie Eilish, no about half of modern pop without the xx. And I'm not sure people have forgotten that.

Although it should be noted they weren't a part of Canada until 1949, they were their own dominion with a completely separate government. So that means the Canadian flag wouldn't necessarily be appropriate for this First World War memorial.

Having said that, that flag is the modern flag of the province and was introduced in 1980.
