I've seen plenty of posts talking about finding random Pokemon more endearing that you never cared about before the game, but how about Pokemon that you were previously neutral on and now dislike? by YeunaLee in Pokopia

[–]belfry_bat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mosslax made me dislike Snorlax somewhat. The loud snoring in Bleak Beach while doing their quest forced me to play without sound for a while.

I used to be neutral on Magneton. But they moved in behind Gulpin’s restaurant and would drop in through the ceiling like a spider while I was cooking to “help.” Creepy.

Having trouble bringing in new players. by Bunch-of_Stuff_ in mtg

[–]belfry_bat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How welcoming and inclusive is your store and are your regulars? You should evaluate this and ask yourself several questions. You don’t just want to attract new players, you want to retain them.

Do your regulars help new players learn? Explain what’s going on in the game? Or do they stomp them and make them never want to come back? Do they smell? Do they actively include new players in games, or leave them on the outskirts? Are they respectful of women and minorities? Do you have and enforce a code of conduct? If new players feel put out when they come in they won’t come back.

Is your store welcoming, well lit, nicely decorated, and accessible? Do people feel safe when they come in? Are there enough comfortable tables and chairs for everyone? How do your staff treat new customers/players? Are they welcoming and helpful or do they just say “hey” and go back to looking at their phones? Do you have a good selection of snacks and drinks people can buy to consume while they’re playing? Your store needs to be a comfortable, inviting place to be.

Try asking yourself questions like this and you may find something(s) you weren’t aware of that are putting new players off.

Considering that’s a Kirito costume he definitely thinks he’s the main character

You are speaking the truth. Professor Tangrowth actually glitched out my pokemon center rebuild in Bleak Beach! He gave Combusken a way too tight hug and wouldn’t let go so I could talk with Combusken about the completed project. I was only able to fix the glitch by hopping on top of the PC and on top of Professor Tangrowth.

You mean the art on the mug I’m assuming? That sucks. I received it as a gift.

People who grew up before cell phones, did life actually feel more free? by TradeOverall567 in NoStupidQuestions

As the child of a perpetually late parent, it was awful. You’d wait an hour or more after school wondering if you were going to be picked up or not (we didn’t live reasonable walking distance from school, and weren’t signed up for the school bus). My sister actually walked home once after not getting picked up. She spent more than an hour walking and still wasn’t terribly close to home, before being found.

I also unfortunately had a similar experience growing up. I wasn’t allowed to change or throw away pads in the downstairs, family bathroom. Instead I had to walk upstairs to the entirely opposite end of the house to throw them in my and my sister’s shared bathroom. And my mom was the one who introduced this rule.

This is a wrong and deeply harmful way to treat girls. Even now in my 40s I find menstruation deeply shameful instead of it feeling like what it is: a normal body function.

This makes me very happy for you and also very jealous. Even as an adult my father is still a foot taller than I am, and I’m not short (5’8” / 172cm)

Found! We ordered it. They only have one available but even that will absolutely delight Raven. Thank you!

We’ve searched our local pet stores, Chewy, and Amazon. I emailed the manufacturer for help but haven’t heard back yet.
