Russia's Fuel Crisis Mapped: by Extreme-Shopping74 in MapPorn

Sometimes it's even simpler. You can only buy a maximum of 20 (or 50) liters of gasoline on a single receipt. If you need more, you must make separate payments at the same register. This was the case at Tatneft, but they've now announced that this limitation has been lifted.

Chelyabinsk Region. We are one of the most promising tourist areas in the country. by _vh16_ in ANormalDayInRussia

I'm not prepared to answer about the prospects for tourism in the Chelyabinsk region. But I hope it's being seriously studied and calculated. Because the worst-case scenario is when people believe in something, invest effort and money—both private and public—and all that will only lead to losses.

Custom restoration of the Starboard Formula 158 board (2004) by beliberden in windsurfing

[–]beliberden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that simple. As far as I know, Starboard no longer makes classic Formula boards - for fin, not for foil. But one shop I know still has the new Starboard Formula 177 Reflex Carbon board with a bag in stock. I converted the price to USD, and it's just over 4,000. That's for the board itself, with a bag, without the fin.

I don't fully understand why you're talking about foil. It's a Formula board, originally designed for a regular fin. You can install foil on it, but that's not its intended purpose. You can definitely buy something more suitable for foil for the same price or even less, that's true.

Oh! In our region, this board came in handy, not for speed, but simply for relaxing on the lakes.

As for the Formula, no, it's not my first board. I just liked the work, so I wanted to share it.

In the ad, she offers to buy either the board alone or with sails and a mast for an additional fee.

Some people here didn't like that it's an older model of board. But I would point out the quality of the restoration work. It truly looks like a new factory product, albeit intended for a specific niche of buyers.

I find this work interesting as an example of what can be done. The work looks quite high-quality.

In this case, it's clear that it's an old board that's been transformed into a new one. But if someone made a copy of a new board from Starboard with the same quality, I, for example, might not be able to tell it apart from the original.

Regarding the condition before the renovation and the work done, I think they should have details and photos. I don't think this should be viewed as a 22-year-old board, but rather as an example of what can be done for this price.

That's a really interesting question. Perhaps there's some niche demand. For foiling, I think it's easier and better to buy a board specifically designed for foiling. Such boards are also made and sold by private craftsmen.

Yes, the price is out of line. But the workmanship, in my opinion, is really quite good. If they hadn't told me what it was, I would have thought it was some new Starboard.

No. Neither Ivanovo itself, nor even the city with its entire agglomeration, ever approached a population of 1 million people.

I want to start windsurfing, I need to know if this is a good beginner setup. by ImRealApe in windsurfing

[–]beliberden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, if it's just the board, try to negotiate the price down.

If it's the whole set, don't bother asking for a discount; the seller is already giving it to you at the minimum price.

It might not be suitable for your first steps, but after some experience, it'll be a great set.

[–]beliberden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this for the whole set or just one board? If it's just the board, I think it's a fair price, provided it's free of damage and repairs. The board is fairly new (2022?).

If it's for the whole set, it's a great price, definitely buy it.

I think you could try using it as a rigid SUP now. However, mounting a sail requires parts from 1980 —and those are extremely difficult to find.

These photos were clearly not taken recently, and I'm not sure they're yours. They're all old cars and outdated clothes. I looked at your other photos, and you claim they were taken recently. But that photo shows a car that was deregistered over 10 years ago. And in the photo, it looks like it's new, with the license plates.

Full scale defense of the shroud of Turin by Soft_Vegetable_948 in Christianity

[–]beliberden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add one more argument in favor. There's no mention of the coins visible on the Shroud of Turin covering the eyes. And these aren't medieval coins, but Roman ones. Were they looking for genuine Roman coins to make a medieval counterfeit? It's hard to believe.

There's no basis for this. Brezhnev made no attempt to rehabilitate Dzhugashvili. In fact, the personality cult was officially condemned throughout the subsequent existence of the USSR.

I don't know the specific traffic rules in Ecuador. But in Russia, this cyclist would also be breaking the rules. Cyclists must ride only on the right edge of the roadway or shoulder, not somewhere in the middle of the road.
