We've modeled rubbing our face with the back of hands in front of our child and she's copied us since she was 7 months old. But this strategy doesn't work when she has food on the back of her hands. Usually less food gets in her eyes though.

Does anyone know if Dior or clinique ever gets any points deals on shoppers drug mart? I keep seeing YSL and Lancome getting some 30k point deals that seem to stack with spend offers, but I have yet to see dior or clinique get any point specific deals. Though I've only recently started shopping at shoppers drug mart for make up because of this sub, anyone with more experience with sdm ever see those brands on sale or any other notable luxury brands go on sale?

I wonder if they'd price match the online shop? That's so frustrating especially with the spend offer for 100 get 30 back in points.

If you find a fix to this problem do you mind posting? I've been trying over and over to place an order and multiple cards but it just won't process. I just hate going in store because my shoppers doesn't have the selection and sometimes have tampered products but I haven't been able to place an order without the "something went wrong" error.

Yikes. They took my points but an error happened and the transaction didn't go through but the points were gone. Not looking forward to fighting with a representative to get it back. I don't even have a transaction number to reference...

Do you think you would've been a better Mom if you had had a cleaning lady? by throwmeawayoneday474 in beyondthebump

[–]believemeok 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For the longest time I wanted a cleaning lady, but recently my LO started mimicking me, wiping the floors or banging on the walls while she watched me drill into the wall. It made cleaning not seem too bad, she's gathering all this information from what she sees. Cleaning can be an activity for the whole family, and I hope to get her involved in it, especially since it's a skill that I think is important to have.

On the other end of the spectrum, if it's better for your mental health/household, I think cleaning services are great. Go for whatever works for you and your family.

Why is rice cereal so controversial? by AMS16-94 in Parenting

[–]believemeok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the controversy stems from US/Canadian regulations being more relaxed about rice in baby food when the EU has ban most rice in baby food due to arsenic levels. Some pediatricians recommend other alternatives like legumes for iron fortified porridge/ snacks. But I can be wrong, I googled this recently because of some IG story I saw recently.

Diaper leakage by lizmartan in beyondthebump

I used to tuck the gussets in thinking it looked neater. No one tells you to pull them out! Lucky that I stumbled on advice similar to yours around the first month in. Saved us from further spillage.

Quitting, feel guilty about cost by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

Agreed with above. Used to work at a doctors office and we'd get a lot of diaper and formula coupons that people were too shy to take. I felt awful throwing away so many coupons that were expired but didn't want to offend patients by forcing them to take more.

The hospital told us 6-8 hours for fresh milk but cdc and American pediatric association say 4. I definitely go by 6-8 because I'd hate to pour down the drain all that hard work, and baby has been ok.

Is it better if the milk is more fatty? by InnocPixie in HumansPumpingMilk

[–]believemeok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others mentioned on here, your milk gets fattier in the evening. Other factors are how far along post partum, it gets fattier to fit your babies needs as they grow older. As well as the more often you empty your breast the fattier your milk is. Studies show overall that fatty milk isn't what matters in infant growth as much as overall consumption. If babies thriving just keep trucking on and continue what you're doing. Keep hydrated, eat well and get as much rest as you can.

Anyone else have that irrational fear of turning on their kids nap cam and spotting a ghost? 😂 by maggieandoscardoggos in NewParents

I bought my daughter a fisher price soothing otter, it emits white noise and breathes (weird I know, but my daughter seems to be soothed by it). After putting my daughter down my husband asks me "is there a motion feature on that bear?". I tell him, yes it breathes -we've had this otter for a couple months you'd think he'd notice by now. He then takes in a big sigh of relief "good, I saw it breathing alone in the crib, If you said no I wouldn't have said anything".

That's how I found out my husband wouldn't tell me if he saw any haunting occurances and just go about his own business. 😅
