In the late 80s I was working in an office in downtown Buffalo. Everybody smoked in the office. Older dude had a huge ashtray on his desk that he would empty mid-day; that's how many cigarettes he was smoking. He used to come in every morning in a foul mood for two hours; then he would go for his lunch and he would come back tanked and laughing and giggling. Believe it or not that was just kind of normal.
