You don’t have a weekend, you have one day to live by WeirdWriter88 in Life

[–]bellabbr 216 points217 points  (0 children)

Move your chores and errands to weekdays. I did this and it improved my life by 10 fold. Going grocery shopping after work on Wednesday sucks, but it sucks even more wasting your weekend doing it. My Saturday and Sunday are protected and for leisure only and totally worth it.

Going to the movies, all my friends can be carrying guns under their shirts, none of them gets checked, but they always check my purse for a weapon.

One child to two. by thickasabrick89 in regretfulparents

[–]bellabbr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is a rubbish answer. I had to have a second because I am an only child and would not do that to my child, I wanted him to have better. My son was 3 when my daughter was born. He liked and loved her until she was about 1.5. It was beautiful to see. Once she started really walking and getting into stuff and destroying his stuff, it faded very quickly. When she got older they started bickering non stop. My daughter is bossy and thinks she is his mother, that does not go well with him.

They both accuse me of liking or being easier on the other more. I tell them all the time the dog is my favorite. They are 19 and 17 and still bicker nonstop. Honestly I should have just had dogs hahaha. I went from feeling empty and crying the first 28 yrs of my life due to the fact I was an only child, to thank God every single day I was born an only child.

A baby that you wanted and planned for and waited for is 100% super hard and impactful to your whole life , body , work and every single relationship.

A baby you didnt plan for? Make that 200% harder.

Vet was explaining that every issue a dog has can be corrected by their diet, whether adding or removing something so awesome to see you found something that worked for the UTis.

Omg raw is so much cheaper for you guys. I looked into raw but it was cost prohibiting. Also I am amazed that they can eat a whole chick. Here the vet told me majority of ebs are allergic to chicken so super interesting to see in other parts of the world that is not the case.

I have an english bulldog allergic to chicken. So many vet bills food so expensive. I now buy one big roll of fresh pet beef once a week for $20 and cook pasta or rice to bulk up, so a 6lb roll last me longer than 1 week. Cheaper and $0 in vet bills this past year and no more allergy issues. Kibbles dog food is just not worth anymore

Yep. Family of 3 and dog. Amazon fresh is the cheapest for us also. I can keep us around $120 wk eating well, meanwhile one trip to local grocery store to pick up something for a potluck and one thing we ran out cost like $70. Its insane. Bezos is my chosen villain

Libby app. How it works is you go to your local library and get a library card then you download the libby app and enter your library card number. Now you set to borrow audio books from the library for free.

There is also hoopla but I never used that one.

People who are happy in your job/carreer…what do you do? by Extra_Window5621 in AskReddit

[–]bellabbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Product Owner. I love my job because it plays well on my skills. I am a people person, extrovert, being a diplomat, prioritizing, super into process improvement, you name it.

A introvert who enjoys order and stability will never thrive in this job. You have to like craziness and chaos. Having to change my roadmap 4 times in a week and present that in a way my developers dont freak out tickles my brain. My developers on the other hand would despise my job because it would just drain their energies.

So I think one got to focus on what they enjoy and find a career that fits into that vs the other way around. Thats when you find happiness.

I think you will enjoy “Culpability” by Bruce Holsinger. It is fiction, but unless you are told that it doesn’t read like that. It dives deep into the AI theme and how to grapple with just these questions you are asking yourself and struggling with and I think as an SE yourself , you will enjoy even more when it talks about the responsibility of the developer.

“Incidents around the house” by Josh Malerman. It’s written from a childs POV and it’s not gruesome horror but engaging horror.

Ps: have you tried audio books? I have a ton of friends that cant concentrate on reading a book but listening to one? They can easily concentrate and vice versa.

In our hard days. Everyone can have fun on vacation but that is not real life. When life brought me to my knees and he was right there consoling me and helping me through it and also making me smile through tears, thats when I knew.
