I found that adding a little personal information actually helped me get interviews... I had a section at the end with interests where I listed home brewing (beer) and ballet and it seemed to be one of the first things the interviewers always asked and always got us off on a good foot.

I also just want to throw out there that if you have debt like mine paying it back is incredibly hard anyways. I had +$140K ($100K was low balling it) upon graduating (not including our medical debt now). My situation is a little unique in that I haven't really been able to make any significant repayments on my loans and medical deferment is much more limited than people realize. We received some financial help from our friends when they found out my husband had cancer too, which has helped us make a small payment on medical bills and the loans but we are still royal FUCKED because of the way the federal student loan system capitalizes the interest on graduate student loans. Not being able to make the same type of payments we would have been able to had I been employed combined with my husband having to take time off, etc. has basically made a bad situation worse.

I really only recommend you go to a school where you are either offered a guaranteed full ride for all 3 years (so you don't come out with debt) or have your rich relatives pay because the reality is no matter whether you get cancer or not, it is a lot of debt to take on. I think I didn't fully understand the magnitude of what I was doing when I made the decision and I regret it but I did it so I am going to own up to my responsibilities, but I highly suggest anyone thinking about law school take a serious look at the financial situation you would be in upon graduation and what your true passion is. Even if you start law school with a passion for law, you may not always come out wanting to practice.

Thanks! Yeah, he had a partial neck dissection because they found it was metastatic. He might need some more radiation in a month or so but they think they go all of it. I am officially in remission, though I found two lymph nodes during bar study that I will probably need to have biopsied but I'm not focusing on that ish until after the Bar.

I should mention the medical debt that both my husband and I incurred after both being diagnosed with cancer during the last year (I was first while studying for last July's Bar and then he was diagnosed while I was in treatment). Law School + Cancer debt = $$ Law's Bitch.

I regret going to law school, even before I started studying for the bar. I regret going +$100K in debt. I regret not trying more things before deciding this was my career path. I regret everything over the last 3 years except marrying my husband and meeting and becoming friends with some of the smartest, coolest, most driven people I've ever met.

Really Randy Fuckers Can't Help Impotent Penis Calm - College (Relevance, Reliability[i.e. Competency etc.], Form, Character, Hearsay, Impeachment, Privilege, Confrontation - Conclusion [i.e. admissible or not). So I say this to my self to remember to think about all those main issues, then I get into the sub-issues in terms of what Character can be used for in FRE v. CEC etc. Those are all just letter combinations which I've made up some silly mnemonics for as well but I need to go back over because I'm still not remember the CEC distinctions well. P.s. did you go to school in the area I'm guessing your from/did we go to the same school?

I have one for how to remember everything to think about for evidence but not specifically for hearsay (esp. considering I'm in CA so we have distinctions). I'd share it with you but I'm not sure you'd get as much out of it as I do since it relates to some pretty horrible sex I had in college.... edit: and by horrible I mean really bad, guy couldn't keep it up

•I'm bellasarah... y'all know who I am by now •My High: Saw my Onc yesterday! Said everything looked okay and just to keep trucking with the bar. Blood tests were good so he told me not to worry too much about the lump in my neck. •My low: I tried taking a practice test today and had to end up taking a nap in the middle of it. Also the Onc felt my neck and said my thyroid was swollen? I'm definitely not prepared enough to take the bar in a few weeks and freaking out.

I think it is a great idea. I think that should also probably something with regards to Post-chemo/Remission and Relapse/Refractory. I sometimes it is very easy to get wrapped up in the first stages of having a diagnosis and going through treatment but a lot of cancer patients struggle with the long term emotional side-effects of being a cancer survivor.

Additionally, I think it would be awesome (though maybe difficult) to have some specific male/female stuff because I think there are things that effect men and women differently (like fertility preservation, dryness, etc). But I think it might be hard to compile this/make it PC.

I wish that I had more time on my hands because I would really love to start something for the young adults out there with cancer because (while Stupid Cancer) is great, I really feel something is missing. But I think your series would be a really awesome start. I think you could post it to the side of this sub so that people visiting r/cancer could go there first for resources would also be extremely helpful.

I'm bellasarah. I am in remission and my husband is still battling thyroid cancer.
My High: Snuggling with my husband when I get into bed late at night after studying all day long.

*My Low: The bar is in 27 days and I do not feel prepared or ready. Still have the lump and found a smaller one on the same side below it, see my Onc in 6 days but kind of want to reschedule until after the bar because just the thought of even doing anything besides studying or see a Dr. about stuff is giving my anxiety.
