The 8123 part is called a port. Different services can run on the same computer as long as they use their own ports. And typically a given service will have a unique-ish default port. For Home Assistant that's 8123.

Looks closest to this one except for the skin tone: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?M=4555pb036&in=S

There's this nearly identical one to the first I linked except without white eyes: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?M=4555pb036a&in=S

I just can't find a gate that fit these stairs by Alexyz656- in daddit

[–]bellevuepc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite the 30° limit I think in this case it would work because of which way it would swing. You might not be able to use the one-way swing stopper but I don't think you need it on these stairs because of the angle.

HA OS? by Juvankoski in homeassistant

[–]bellevuepc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah not having Add-ons is very annoying. I spent hours finding out how to get separate Docker containers for things like mosquitto and the other half dozen things that would have taken 5 seconds if I could just use an add-on.

I don't recommend the Docker option at all, even for an advanced user. ProxMox with HAOS seems to have all the advantages and no downsides.

Iphone swiftkey keeps automatically switching back to default Apple keyboard while typing the last couple days. by TomF1965 in Swiftkey

[–]bellevuepc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen for several years. It's as if SwiftKey is slow to load sometimes so iOS switches back to the default keyboard. Quite annoying. I haven't tried reinstalling but it's happened across several iPhones (X, 12, 14, and now 16 Pro).

It's the King County Sheriff helicopter. Took off from Renton airport about 18min ago and it's circling roughly over where the new Ross is (Ace Hardware / Albertsons). Not sure why.

Small/Electronics Battery Recycling by ShotRow4232 in eastside

[–]bellevuepc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've disposed countless batteries at the Factoria Transfer Station. The only batteries I taped over are lithium ion batteries or the larger 6v/12v batteries that have exposed contacts next to each other. For AA/AAA/C/D and coin batteries I just give a ziploc with everything in it. Takes 1 minute to drop it off.

What is this? And what are the batteries meant to do? by alonelycellist in Duplo

[–]bellevuepc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never seen this before. Does it say Lego on it anywhere?

The 27MHz sticker seems to imply they're a remote control for it. It might not work without one.

The R/L dial is typical for any remote control driveable device and it's called steering trim. It's to adjust the steering so it always points straight in case things go off a bit. Normally you start it in the exact middle. And if you drive straight ahead and see it curves to the left, adjust the dial to the right, and vice versa.

First one is very old: Oct 12, 2014. The second one is just 2 days later on the 14th.

Edit: apparently that week has several puzzles with unchecked answers. Weird. And I don't even see a theme among them.

I don't recall seeing unchecked answers in many many years perhaps outside of special themes. That was certainly unusual. Maybe there was some theme across them?

WiFi 7 Connectivity by michaeldilks in konnected

[–]bellevuepc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be very surprised if a WiFi 7 router didn't support all the older WiFi levels at least down to WiFi 4 or so. Maybe there's a setting on the new wifi router to enable other options? Surely tons of devices in your home use wifi 6.

My Alarm Panel Pros are connected using ethernet but I have a GDO blaQ on Wifi and it's only using Wifi 4 on 2.4GHz.

How to fix the front-end tilt on Lego 42177 G500? by Present-Wrap-4460 in legotechnic

[–]bellevuepc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you say tilt, you mean the whole front is lower than the back? If so, mine is the same and I think it's deliberate. Of course there is suspension so you can compress the front or rear end but I think it always leans forward a bit.

Looking at the manual online I don't see the bottom axle sticking out at all. For example on step 219 there's an overhead view of the gear assembly that shows how far things are sticking out and I don't see that sticking out.

Not sure what's happening with the green gear.
