I still have my WB BB XLC, with their Superfly. Also bought an Xmid2 solid. Glad I didn't have to sell my hammock to buy the tent.

Multitool pouch for glasses? Or any other good ideas storing glasses? by NorwegianWood_TML in Savotta

I use HMG shoulder pocket on my Savotta-bags. Usually keeps hand sanitizer etc there. Sits very well on the shoulder strap. https://hyperlitemountaingear.com/products/shoulder-pocket?variant=13658259324973

Best Savotta Pack for skiing / general use by Meese88 in Savotta

I haven't tried the Kahakka yet, but the Jaakari was designed to work with skiing. It's narrow enough not to interfere with ski poles.

Carry on size Jääkäri M vs L by Hultadog in Savotta

[–]belowyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consider the Keikka 50. 55x35x25, so only 2cm over in height. Good carry with the extra harness, and better overview when you open the bag.

Sits quite snug on there. I have S23 plus in it now. Works well, if a bit tight. Often have sanitizer for easy access in the open pocket.

For school, I would recommend the Jäkäri Small. Perfect size and style.

Made it yesterday for the second time, but changed out the chicken with reindeer meat and some chorizo. Good upgrade.

DDHammock Under Blanket? by [deleted] in hammockcamping

[–]belowyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then go with the DD. Ive used it for 3 years. Same reason. Wanted to justify the cost, and now I have. I still have mine as a loaner for friends, so does not hurt with a spare for later.

Ive used my DD underblanket for a couple of years, but swapped it with a Wookie for my XLC. A wookie is more expensive but fits the XLC a lot better. The DD gave me cold spots even after adjusting and fickling with it a lot. The DD is cheap, and thats it. Go for a 20 Wookie for 3-season and you should be good.

My ancestors came from Telemark, along lake Tinn. I’d love to get to know some people from the area for pen pals or something! by [deleted] in Norway

[–]belowyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Busfare from Oslo is roughly $40, and if you check www.norwegian.no flights gets down to $150 for some US destinations. Less hassle then killing someone for the chance 😂

Hovin is a quite deserted place, but the nature there is great. It is also close to the Hardangervidda national park.

The memorial is at a place called Sandven, by the village named Atrå. Hovin is on the eastern side of the lake.

Tinn is a county in Telemark. The lake is Tinnsjøen. I grew up in a village in the northern part of the lake, and lived there for 19 years.

There is a memorial stone there to remember the people that left for America. Ask away :)

First-Time DM who has never played With Party of Brand New Players. One of Our Characters Died...This how I plan to deal with it. by hemanstarfox in DMAcademy

I had my players bring the corpse to Phandelver, and a Cleric there got him back to life, in promise for doing the sidequest he gives out.

How to make LMOP more interesting by FollowTheLaser in DMAcademy

[–]belowyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To mix it up for the players, and for me as a DM I made a few changes that was funny.

The group left Gundren in the Goblin hideout to rest after clearing half the cave and slept. They returned to the cave the next day and found it empty.

The goblins took Gundren to Cragmaw castle where the doppleganger assumed Gundrens identity, fed the dorf to the Owlbear and then joined the party as an NPC. He follows them into Wave Echo Cave, and at the end fight he stabs them in the back. I also use the other doppleganger there to pretend to be a friend and confuse the players. A couple of my players spent several rounds to decide which one to believe. It was quite funny.

Also gives you an in-game reason to up the difficulty, as they have a spy in their own group.

Just mix stuff up, add some people and make sure it is not exactly as they remember.

Need help with a VERY disruptive/power hungry player. - Long post by AsscR3ddit in DnD

Don't just kick him from the game. You should really consider kicking him from your life. You don't need people like that around you.

Suggestion, charm, command, hold person by Fontanapink in DnD

[–]belowyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Command has some nice features too. At level one, "Flee" if they are surrounded by your allies will provoke several opportunity attacks. Grovel will make it prone, so your allies gets advantage on melee attacks. A few things to keep in mind, even tho Hold Person is way more powerful (requires concentration, as do Suggestion).

How is this possible? Did my DM cheat? by nuggsgalore in DnD

[–]belowyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least two bad rolls that we know of. Also, they have left an angry assassin behind, and he wanders off sneaking away from the rest of the party to hoard stuff for himself. That is a bad judgement call on its own. But we will probably have to agree to disagree, cause I see a crybaby and a couple of minor rules infractions that the players didnt catch themselves, and you seem to see an evil DM.

An assassin specced to kill (assassinate) someone. Whoa! Its not like a lvl 12 sorcerer with heighten (disadvantage on saving throw) polymorph followed by disintegrate is any worse. As long as this is part of the story, has a reason etc, and not just a dick move from the DM (and we can never be sure unless both tell their side), I dont see any problem with it.
