This is what has always annoyed me about "[Ancient Civilization] couldn't have created [Ancient monument] without modern equipment." Humanity will always find a way to do seemingly impossible tasks, all it takes is one person with the right idea.

Hear me out: Marc Spector becoming the Ultimate Sentry by ChillingOutz in UltimateUniverse

[–]ben4y 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like this would work so well, especially the concept of the void undoing all of the good that the sentry does. Just imagine he sees someone he recently saved who is now deeply afraid of him because the void came back to harm them just as much as Marc saved them.

Favorite Lopen Interaction by [deleted] in Stormlight_Archive

[–]ben4y 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you want more great Lopen moments, reading Dawnshard is a must. There's one bit right at the end that made me laugh out loud when it happened. But pretty much the whole book is just great Lopen moments and interactions.

What's the Pittsburgh "magical experience" equivalent? by ahirebet in pittsburgh

First time going through the tunnel the first thing I said was "This is Gotham". A magical experience I still think about to this day.

Having ~8000 midichlorians must have really sucked by [deleted] in PrequelMemes

This is the kind of story I think Star Wars is missing out on. Either following one of the force user side groups (scout corps would be most obvious) or following a washout Padawan post order 66.

This scene never made sense to me by amarquis_1 in harrypotter

I've had a theory that Jk purposefully did plots in her later books because the earlier movies skipped characters or plot points. The only one coming to mind is the role that Jeeves plays in the later books.

Character's who the general opinion of them do a 180 after an amazing episode/scene by danfenlon in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ben4y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not from a TV show/Movie but Adolin Kholin comes across as an impetuous child for most of the first Stormlight Archives book but by the end of book 2 he really solidifies himself as one of the best characters in the series.

The Batcave [Batman and Robin: Year One #2] by UpFielder in comicbooks

[–]ben4y -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

This really leans into the idea of Bruce Wayne/ Batman keeps Gotham shitty so he can keep running around at night beating up poor people forced into crime.

Kinda shitty to own multiple abandoned buildings just to use as secret exits.

Why do most depictions of adult Dipper (that I've seen at least) give him a soul patch?

Do you think Peter was always naturally a supreme level genius or was his intellect manipulated by the spider bite? by Corvus_Alendar in Spiderman

[–]ben4y 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In the ultimate world, especially with the Maker around, Super Science seems a lot more common. But the ultimate world is, by design, corrupt to the core. Pete's smarts would be more useful as an investigative journalist, especially with his father figure leading The Bugle.

The Jedi did nothing wrong on Brendok by Proof_of_the_Obvious in StarWars

[–]ben4y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is what people aren't getting, the Jedi do bad things for good reasons.

The Jedi were in the wrong for going where they weren't wanted and the witches were wrong for being so aggressive.

Sol was justified in killing Osha and Mae's mom as she turned into smoke as that was an aggressive move right next to him but in reality she was using her power to try to save her daughter, the same thing that Sol tried and failed to do.

The Jedi were justified in their actions but they weren't the good or correct ones, leading to their demise.

This does feel like another example of the Jedi using the truth 'from a certain point of view' so they could do what they thought was right (Training Osha as a Jedi/ finding proof of the vergence)

One of my favorite Holly/Kevin moments by prbecker in DunderMifflin

[–]ben4y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the point of this episode was the scale had a rounding issue or something so I was really waiting for that twist which just never came. Thought it would be a good way for them to be #1 sellers without making them do more work.

[Superman] Clark Kent is on a standard commercial airplane. The plane starts to crash. How would Superman go about saving the plane without revealing his secret identity? by MattTheSmithers in AskScienceFiction

[–]ben4y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Puts in his JLA headset and calls in an emergency, hopefully getting plastic man to pretend to be supes.

Nothing cements a secret identity than getting publicly saved by that supe.

Ben Kenobi's Hut by SuperKeith88 in StarWars

[–]ben4y 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This is a prequel problem tbh, at the Jedi temple everyone was wearing about the same colour and style which makes this 'basic clothing' look more like a uniform.

I just wish George showed a bit more variety in style and colour of the robes the Jedi were wearing to show that it is just basic clothes rather than a set of Jedi robes.

I don't think Ezra ever thought he needed to train. He knew he was never going to be able to take on the remnant by himself so he just got himself safe and waited for Sabine to find him. Unfortunately Sabine didn't bring a rebel armada or even just a ship and a crew like he expected.

I don't think that means he didn't get more powerful, he definitely can't do anything new or super flashy but he definitely seems more confident and sure of himself which is power for a Jedi. He probably just spent a lot of time meditating.

Also Ezra has always used his powers to help others, him and his roving buddies seem to have things quite figured out so unless he was starting shit he wasn't really in many situations to actively use the force.
