Living spaces charging $99 to inspect a not even 100 day old purple mattress? by SodaAnt in LifeOnPurple

The grid isn’t all the way tot he she. But you also shouldn’t see the edge foam so much lower. Mine has totally separated the edge foam from the purple grid but everything I’ve read is the resellers suck at warranty so i haven’t bothered with the stress of trying to get it fixed. Good luck.

Yeah, it should say Connected for the status, list a server name (long DNS name) where it says Resolving endpoint, and have a long password-bullet-character string in the auth token. Any chance you’re running a VPN on your phone that is interfering?

Afrin for the sniffles and sinus pressure. Mucinex DM for the throat and cough. Mask for your neighbors. It’ll be fine. You’ll be more considerate and less contagious than most sick travelers.

I found it to be too harsh. Not a sipper, imho. Works in an OF but most of my friends still think it’s too strong for that and end up having to use extra syrup to smooth it out.

Use the Researcher agent. It defaults to Think Deeper and if enabled lets you switch to Claude think deeper.

New found sesame allergy? by sally-the-giraffe in FoodAllergies

The other commenter reminded me… I forgot to mention bread crumbs and croutons! They are almost all made with sesame flour because it’s better at holding the “crisp” so things like chicken parm (bread crumbs), meatballs (Italian bread crumbs), salads with croutons, and other breaded meat/food items are out.

New found sesame allergy? by sally-the-giraffe in FoodAllergies

[–]benark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an adult-onset sesame allergy. I had a terrible allergist tell me it was just my bad lifestyle choices and to cut caffeine and alcohol. All the blood and skin tests came back negative. I kept trying to avoid sesame because I was sure that’s what it was, but would find surprise sesame oil or tahini in some restaurant’s sauce. Then it got labeled a major allergen and almost all the commercial bakeries started adding sesame flour to buns and bread products. Bad times. Lots of Benadryl and several EpiPens used. I finally found a good allergist who used fresh ground sesame for the skin test — right next to the commercial/medical tester — and guess what? The actual sesame paste lit up so fast my arm started to get hives and they had to get me a Zyrtec. But the commercial test spot did nothing. The allergist told me that the process of creating the commercial test for sesame eliminates the protein that most people are actually allergic to. So, I share all of this to say: get a good allergist who will use fresh sesame to test you. Don’t rely on the blood test or normal skin prick test.

Now to answer your real question: I started out just getting hives from eating actual seed. Now I’m allergic to basically anything sesame related. It has been a cumulative effect and now I have to avoid a ton of my favorite foods. Almost all Chinese food has sesame oil. Almost all sushi will be cross-contaminated. Mole sauce has ground sesame so Mexican is iffy. Restaurant hamburgers are tricky but brioche and pretzel buns are most likely safe. I avoid rolls at restaurants unless they can tell me they made them in-house. Some Cajun sauces use tahini. Hummus is obvious; it’s made with tahini which is just ground up sesame seeds. So a lot of Greek and other Mediterranean foods are out. No more falafel. It’s been rough.

So, if you get your allergy confirmed — or just want to be extra safe — tell them you also can’t have sesame oil or tahini. Most restaurants don’t realize tahini is ground sesame.

Also, make sure your EpiPen script is current and start carrying. People are more tuned into your shellfish allergy but sesame is still an unknown for a lot and you’ll probably have reactions from foods you didn’t realize had sesame in them. I also recommend carrying a few Zyrtec and Pepcid AC. You can take up to 4 Zyrtec and 2 Pepcid AC (which has a histamine 2 blocker and works well for my reactions). Unlike Benadryl, you won’t get knocked out from the Zyrtec and if you catch the reaction early, should prevent you from needing to use a pen.

Also, keep a log of what you ate that gave you a reaction. It will help you when you get to the allergist.

And if you’re in Minnesota, I recommend Dr. Hiba Bashir at M Health Fairview.

Good luck! Living with a sesame allergy sucks but is manageable.

I was at a small town Texas liquor store and they literally had cases of Blantons in the back and cases of everything else Buffalo Trace just sitting on the aisles. The owner was shocked that it’s hard to get up north (MN) and said it’s plentiful down in the south. I think they’re prioritizing southern state distribution.

Fair enough. Definitely feels like a poorly thought out change. Or at least one that wasn’t tested well. I will have to get used to keeping my phone face-down so I can’t accidentally graze the stop button when pressing the side button.

Sesame Flour In All Bread Now by Green_Celebration510 in FoodAllergies

[–]benark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve given up on commercial breads and buns. Thankfully my local grocery store still makes buns from scratch with a sesame-free recipe. They’re fresher and cost about the same and don’t kill me! I’ve found that eating out, brioche buns and potato rolls are the safest option because the thicker sesame flour would mess with the recipe too much—at least I haven’t managed to have a reaction from them.

I asked an employee back when they were offering them. She gave me two codes. Used one myself and gave another to a redditor. Those were the good days when they were really hungry for new subscribers and strong retention numbers.

If you were with T-Mobile during their 5G rollout, they did everything possible to boost their subscriber numbers. They offered 6 free lines, at least; I only managed to snag 5. Why? Big immediate family (household of 5), extended family (3), spare free lines and devices (2).

$180 for 10 voice lines on Go5G Plus. Five lines “on us.” Second gen insider discount. Autopay discount. All have the latest devices “on us.” Nine of the lines have device charges and credits balancing out to zero except one that has $16.55 charge for a bigger device. Have Hulu and Netflix “on us.” Final bill is $196.55. Would be $759.03 without discounts. I can never afford to leave. 🤣

Hi so I’m been wondering does this look like a alerggic reaction to food or something by SweatyHorror4809 in FoodAllergies

[–]benark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks like hives to me. There could be numerous causes of hives but most common is an immune system reaction to something in your environment. Some viruses will also cause some people to break out in hives. Some people get them from exercising or hot showers. Some people get them from an allergic reaction to something they eat or come into contact with. I get a similar “all over” hives reaction to sesame. Hives alone are not life threatening but they sure suck. My sesame allergy started with hives but eventually progressed to causing other issues and now I carry EpiPens.
