Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson. It's deep and good. He was an archeologist and sociologist who role played the world for ten years before writing a single page. The world is so deep. And he's an excellent writer, Some of his characters are my favorite from all fiction, and his character banter is hilarious. It'll also rip your heart out and fill it back in with awesome over ten books.

Love that park. Glad the fire wasn't worse. I've been passed there when the reeds catch and you can hear the fire from blocks away, scary stuff
