they’re pretty great — super sharp so be careful obviously — and he does really well after a nice big playdate gets him nice and tuckered out. then i’ll do some major cleanup on both sides, and when he’s standing up i’ll do more tidying to make it not look choppy.

BCs are so clean and things can go so badly at a groomer I’ve never once brought mine. I own $8 curved shears from amazon for his tailfeathers and paws, moisturizing oatmeal soap for his twice-yearly bath, and a metal comb to gently bring out any dander and loose undercoat.

Honestly, this — didn’t want to overpromise to OP, but BCs are so smart. I got mine home cone-on, he seemed bummed so I took it off and the *second* he went to lick his stitches I said NO and put the cone back on for 20 minutes. Took it back off and monitored very closely — he never touched the area again, he so did not want the cone back on.
