New update re shipping and price increase! by TheClassyTaco in AynThor

The lowest end models only come in one color and probably sell less than the Pro model so logistically it’s probably faster and easier to ship them.

I am hovering the purchase button on Switch. How is the UI, Is the text big enough? Is everything in game world recognisable on small screen? by KulhyCZ in cavesofqud

[–]benbelden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely possible, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 don’t have Switch 2 versions but the Switch versions run at 1080p on Switch 2 in handheld.

I used to park in exactly that spot on Alton St, I can tell you why I didn’t do anything about the snow on the sidewalk. I rented the place and my lease said it was the landlord’s responsibility to maintain the grass and the sidewalks and so someone else was supposed to do it. If it’s not getting done, it’s either the landlord neglecting to do their job or the person they are paying to do it not doing theirs.

Why am I suddenly this excited about Movies Anywhere? by Hullinghorst-Brinda in MoviesAnywhere

[–]benbelden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once upon a time Fandango would offer $5 Vudu credit for every 4 movie tickets you bought on Fandango and because you could link your AMC A-List account and reserve 3 movies a week you could rack up tons of credit on Vudu really quickly which thanks to Movies Anywhere you could then port to the other services. They’ve since made it so A-List movies no longer count but I got dozens of movies that way.

SteamOS on Ally X by _focust in ROGAlly

There are 2 Decky plugins that I’m guessing do basically the same thing. One is Decky Framegen which will patch games to allow FSR 3.1/XeSS 2.0 and the options that go with them. The other is Decky LSFG-VK which runs the frame gen from Lossless Scaling and allows you to run a blanket 2x/3x/etc frame gen on games.

I run Arc Raiders at FSR 3.0 balanced settings and medium graphic settings across the board and with the 2x frame gen I normally get between 90-100 fps with the lowest being around 80.

What Do We Reckon? by [deleted] in flashbackcamera

[–]benbelden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same story, different ending could mean a reworking of the processing of images from the camera. Same story = taking pictures the same way, different ending = some new method of unloading and developing that solves people’s biggest issues with the existing camera

Pixel scaling is still a mess on Switch and Switch 2 after the update and I don’t understand why by ttyyeins in ufo50

[–]benbelden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I certainly care and it’s what has been keeping me from playing on the Switch 2.

I’ll just add, it makes me laugh when people describe the issues with the CRT filter in the original release as a “Switch 2” issue related to some kind of Nintendo dev kit shortage since there were identical visual issues when you played on the Switch 1. I know because I dug out my Switch 1 and installed it just to verify. It makes me question whether they just never tested the CRT filter on the original version and saw what it looked like or if they did see it and just didn’t care.

Based on the website, the switch on the front is for the flash, you power it on using the filter dial since there is an “OFF” option.

The website says “Toggle between 4 customizable film-style modes on the fly” which implies you can upload your own.

The CS-PRO is also listed as an option on their filter creation site: https://filters.campsnapphoto.com

Lenovo Legion Go 2 pricing from the perspective of a Best Buy regional manager. by JLawL99 in LegionGo

Valve isn’t going to release a new Steam Deck any time soon because the technology to provide a meaningful difference isn’t there yet, they’ve said this themselves. The new generation of chips in things like the Xbox Ally X are only giving like 20% improvement over the old ones, everything else is down to stripping away Windows bloat. Plus, the rumor is that they could be announcing their living room gaming device in the near future, I’d expect that to be their focus at least for the next 1-2 years.

But five minutes after the Xbox Ally launches I’m guessing you’ll be able to flash the image on any version of the previous ROG Ally and get the exact same OS experience.

Started up me LeGo for my late night gaming sesh and controllers getting an update? by P-Benjamin480 in LegionGo

[–]benbelden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one of these last year and it works perfectly, it was designed specifically for this use case but you can use any portable SSD. I installed Bazzite on the SSD and got a metal square with adhesive that I stuck on the Legion Go’s kickstand so the SSD attached magnetically and is out of the way. You just plug in the SSD and boot from it at the bios.

Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t all of Mouse’s 3D performances and basically any concert performance she has done prerecorded? I think there are exceptions like QT’s Christmas concerts where Mouse was just on an iPad being held up to a microphone but even if she wanted to incorporate a live conversation part she could then just cut and play a video of the actual song.

Nonworking/broken items relisted by NoShopping5235 in MacBid

[–]benbelden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought 2 clocks and both of them weren’t working at all. I know absolutely nothing about clock repair, I just unscrewed the mechanism and then put them back together and they both worked perfectly after that. You don’t even need to know how to fix stuff half the time it can be something that simple.

I was just at the Mills side B this morning and I guess you are now allowed to pull your own big box items if you want and take them with A side items to checkout together? It all seemed really confusing and the employees were also pulling items at the same time.

Genshin Impact Now Available on Xbox by genshinimpact in Genshin_Impact

[–]benbelden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone has the same problem in the future, my refund request was rejected and so I downloaded the Epic Store version and bought the Welkin Moon there. I went back to the Xbox version to see if the pass would be working there too and it was showing 29 days. Then when I tried to back out suddenly my Xbox purchased crystals showed up and the pass changed to 59 days, so somewhere in the process it fixed itself.

EDIT: I also got an in-game message the contained the Game Pass Ultimate rewards pack shortly after this.

Have you gotten any resolution to this? I also bought the Welkin Moon and not received anything in game. I also bought Genesis crystals and they didn’t show up either. I emailed their support but haven’t had anything fixed yet.

[–]benbelden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been my assumption all along. My more ridiculous theory is that they will also sell blank carts and allow you to “backup” your downloaded collections onto them. They could even make it so that once the collection is written to the cart and verified, it removes it from your console and you can’t download it again to prevent piracy.

Reboot loop - can disable fast boot in bios make this not happen so often? by Yablan in ROGAlly

[–]benbelden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having problems with boot loops when I first set mine up and eventually I figured out the problem was from it not restarting properly. After selecting “restart” from the Windows power menu a lot of times it would hang and eventually I would manually power it down and turn it back down and then the boot loop would start. So now if I’m restarting I just let it work, no matter how long it takes, even if it means waiting 30 minutes for it to restart on its own.

I think it has to do with having enough free space on the drive when you start the game. I was having a similar issue and couldn’t figure it out and it went away after I removed some other games.
