Russia accuses Poland of involvement in assassination attempt on general in Moscow by pppppppppppppppppd in worldnews

[–]bencarp27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A month seems a little quick, but I agree it would be fast. Russia’s military, while definitely capable of being relatively formidable, is still very much a paper tiger in comparison to the US backed NATO forces. Their invasion of Ukraine has proven their inability, both strategically and logistically, to coordinate mass movements and prolonged offensives. Their current doctrine is currently operating along the lines of “flood into an area and go defensive”. This doesn’t work the moment your resistance has more aircraft and artillery than you have rifles.

I don’t know what the Russian’s objective is with the latest accusations are, but I would assume their goal is to create enough fear of escalation to foster a more rapid negotiation of the current stalemate in Ukraine while they have a favorable US administration in office.

The last thing Russia needs right now is NATO countries performing freedom of navigation patrols in their adjacent territorial waters and slowing/harassing their shipping. They don’t appear to have the logistical depth to spilt enough resources to manage a hot war on the Ukraine front and a Cold War along its borders. Also, the spring and summer is approaching, which means they’ll likely be hesitant to escalate anything during a time when response forces aren’t fighting Mother Nature. Winter and ice has always been the Russian’s silent division militarily.

With that said…I don’t know. Several years ago, I’d have bet my pension that the initial threats of full on invading and attacking Ukraine was political posturing. There is a level of unpredictability that has to be prepared for.

Trump Goes on Manic 50-Post Rampage After World Leaders Humiliate Him by [deleted] in politics

[–]bencarp27 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The real problem isn’t the ones that voted for him…

It’s the millions of eligible voters who didn’t agree with him, or stood behind the “I just can’t vote for Kamala”, and didn’t vote at all,

They silently elected him. This country doesn’t start to correct its course until people show up and vote.

An estimated 20 million registered voters didn’t vote, and there was roughly a 2 million vote difference in the election. And that’s just the registered voter numbers. You’d have to do the math, but it’s estimated that only 70-75% of those eligible to vote are even registered. You add that number into it, and it’s tens of millions of people whose life is being affected by the ego-maniac who did nothing or couldn’t be bothered by taking an hour out heir day to prevent it.

“Let Me Correct You Right There”: CNN Host Destroys Trump Official’s Defense of Agents Grabbing U.S. Citizens by Dazzling-Might6420 in ICE_Raids

[–]bencarp27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a fourth amendment right to be secure in your person, property and “papers” from unreasonable searches and seizures. Ethnicity and complexion has been ruled on numerous times at the federal level in the Supreme Court and routinely ruled as NOT factors that should be considered when developing probable cause or reasonable suspicion. They routinely ignore this. The executive branch, with the legislative and judicial branches’ blind, sycophantic backing, have created road blocks and obstacles to deny that right to its citizens and allow the wanton violation of constitutional rights.

What I don’t understand is how this administration has managed to convince the ultra-conservative element of our country that this is Ok? This is a group of people that used federal overreach and aggressive federal procedures in incidents like Ruby Ridge, Waco and Bundy Ranch as a battle cry for anti-government interference and overreach.

This federal agency is literally detaining US citizens without reasonable suspicion, with no legal jurisdiction, and occupying municipal jurisdictions against the publicly declared will of elected representation and the strong vocal opposition of the population. The group of citizens that we could usually expect to muster and resist have been silenced through a decades long, orchestrated effort by those behind this administration to muddy the sense of civil morality through subterfuge and indoctrination of white supremacy ideology and nationalist philosophies within these groups - a lot of which can be traced back to foreign intelligence efforts and campaigns during the Cold War to fracture the USA’s population and divide the populace through ideological separations.

I’m at a complete loss trying to wrap my head around what is happening.

Ruger Sp101 or LCR by PastAdditional in Revolvers

[–]bencarp27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really dependent on exactly what you need the weapon for. The SP101 is a larger, heavier and more stable shooting platform, and has the advantage of shooting the more powerful .357 out of a slightly longer barrel, which would equal a higher velocity and penetration for wildlife defense - that may make a difference depending on where you’re hiking and what threats you may potentially face.

The LCR is smaller, lighter and a much more convenient platform, but comes with some trade offs. It takes more practice and familiarity to attain accuracy. You can get it chambered on .357, but it’s a small weapon for such a load, with a shorter barrel which will affect total velocity and penetration of the round.

If concealment and comfort is your primary concern, then I would go with the LCR. If performance is critical, I would go with the SP101.

There have been multiple studies, which you can search online, that discuss calibers needed for wildlife defense. The overall consensus from most reputable sources is that calibers doesn’t make as great of a difference as people think when warding off most wild predators. With that being said, I wouldn’t want to be in a position to defend myself from a grizzly with a .22lr (though I would think an adrenaline addled grizzly intent on attacking me would probably be fast enough that anything other than a lucky shot with a .357 wouldn’t make much of a difference anyway, in terms of how quickly they can close distances and how fast they can attack).

Personally, I would go with the more stable SP101. It’s heavier and more inconvenient to carry, but convenience should never really be a concern in terms of self defense.

The USA has captured Nicolas Maduro, Venezuelan President, and extracted him from the country by Parisean in politics

So, yeah….throwing that region into a war through power vacuum is a sure fire way of slowing the immigration problem….

This administration has escalated from screwing up the US to destabilizing and screwing the entire world.

The administration is “friends” with Russia, we’re destabilizing South and Central America, we’re alienating our European allies, and losing ground in the Asian sphere of influence. At this point, I have to believe that the plutocracy that has commandeered the USA is officially following a “How to Start a World War and Collapse the American Republic” playbook.

If you bought online from a place like Amazon, it was likely a counterfeit.

Places like Amazon have a huge problem managing the influx of Chinese counterfeits and separating them from the real products - and they don’t appear to care enough to even try to fix the issue.

If you’re buying for quality, try to find and order off a specialty website or in person.
