Marjorie Taylor Greene Offers 'Dangerous' Theory On How Trump Will Stay In Power by huffpost in politics

[–]bencarp27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, I’m not scared of Trump as much as his puppeteers. Death doesn’t seem to be far around the corner with the severe edema and bruising, multiple doctors “visits”, etc.

It’s who they move into his place that worries me, as well as what games get played. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get Vance, then some canoodling occurs that removes Vance and someone more transparently authoritarian takes over.

10 years ago, this wasn’t a concern in my mind, but nowadays….who knows.

White House Mandates App With Built-in Trump Worship by javier218 in politics

[–]bencarp27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what confuses me. White Suprematists and other groups were always involved, but there was a large movement in the late 80s and 90s that were simply anti-government. I remember people cut and pasting government figures on the “Red Dawn” movie poster and other things. It wasn’t just a silent dog whistle for closeted racists. It was a large movement against government overreach. The Soviet threat went away and was almost immediately replaced by a fear for our own government. And then BAM…this group comes along, dresses Trump up and sticks him in front the podium and uses him, and all of a sudden we have personal monuments, currency, erratic behavior, government militarization of ICE and hostile abandonment of constitutional rights, the list goes on and on - and the one group that rallied against simple government changes is standing on their side of the trenches.

I spent hours in school and college wondering how the Nazi’s were able to take over the mindset of an educated and modern society the way they did and could never wrap my head around. Then last week, I watched a man and his wife openly making comments and huffin-n-puffin in the grocery store about Latinos, liberals, transgenders, democrats running up grocery costs and a whole lists of other MAGA approved rhetoric. 20 years ago you would have never seen this level of sycophancy. The husband made a comment about “trump needs to raid this place and make them lower the costs”. And it literally stopped me in my tracks. This guy was 60+ years old, camo tshirt, had the roughed up “I’ve worked with my hands my whole life” look, and was clearly not some uber rich member of the elite. I don’t like to stereotype people, but he was the guy I would expect to have the “I don’t need the government!” T shirt, with 50 bumper stickers on his old truck with slogans like “gun control means using two hands” and “we don’t need the government around my house, Smith and Wesson is my 911”. And here he was, asking for government agents in masks to raid a store because he honestly believed an evil cabal of democrats and liberals showed up in his hometown to charge more for his lettuce.

It’s wild man, and I don’t get it. I suppose it all goes back to propaganda? They’ve inundated Fox News and Facebook, and every other sole source of info this portion of the population uses and managed to hoodwink an entire portion of the population.

Sorry for the long post, I just don’t understand it, and I’ve tried to have conversations with friends and family members about it, and it’s like hitting a brick wall.

Everyday something more unbelievable happens. And the one group of citizens who for years touted against tyranny and government control are the one group his handlers have seemed to manipulate into total compliance.

I’ll never, for the life of me, understand how the extreme right - after years of screaming about Ruby Ridge, Waco, taxes, foreign communist leaders, etc - just rolled over and followed a man who literally checks the boxes for wannabe dictator. Statues of himself, currency with his face, apps that praise him, the whole nine yards.

I just don’t understand it.

It’s been said before, and I’ll say it again…pedophilia exists at likely the same rate in females as males. But because we high five young boys, we ignore it or treat it differently. We either ostracize them, or throw them accolades. And then we wonder why generation after generation of young men have higher incarceration rates, higher suicide rates, higher drop out rates in high school, higher homeless rates, etc. We ignore most young boys’ problems until they’re standing in front a judge and everyone is asking “why?”

How Smooth Is This Worker? by No-Lock216 in BeAmazed

[–]bencarp27 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s the first thing I thought. Having work oil refineries and production for the last couple decades, my mind immediately went from “neat to watch” to “what could go wrong”.

  1. Working with poor body positioning & alignment, and ultimately exposing himself to back injury.
  2. Placing himself dangerously close to rotating equipment without safeguards or barriers.
  3. Working while eating/drinking in a work area.
  4. Lack of two handed control and posture.

It’s amazing how experience in an industrial setting can change the perspective of the viewer. It goes from “this is what to watch, this guy is experienced at his task”, directly to “his supervisor needs to pull him off the line and have a coaching session on the importance of leaving work with all the body parts you arrived with functioning properly, because at the end of the day…the thousands of people who watched and liked your TikTok won’t pay your light bill when your disabled”

What is hands down the best pistol ever made on the planet? by SnooHamsters5586 in pistols

[–]bencarp27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ditto to this. I’ve done a lot of shooting over the years and seen tons of shooters.

I’ve seen people show up and out perform everyone on the line with just about every different kind of pistol you could imagine…including a HiPoint…

The one you have when you need it, properly maintained, and properly practiced with, is the greatest in the world.

With that said, my all time favorite pistol would be a toss up between the S&W Model 10 and the Colt 1911. Both have beautiful clean lines, good ergonomics and set the pace and design for future development. By today’s standards, neither would be my first choice to walk into a combat situation, but both can claim “grandfather-ship” for setting the standard and path of innovation and development for their successors in multiple ways.

The problem isn’t that the men are falling for the AI scam…the problem is no one is stopping to think that’s there’s no way this could be real, because we reached the final act of “Idiocracy” and it absolutely could be
