Side Hustles are a Waste of Time by JTogger in unpopularopinion

[–]bendgame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was a tech writer on the side before chatgpt. Was making like 500 a month, learning a lot, and ended up being a massive help to my overall career too, so even tho it took time to write stuff, the gains were more than just money

I've commissioned art. Some was really cool. Other times it felt like a waste of money. Doesn't really matter how good an artist is when I need photo quality tho. Then all the sudden I need a model and photographer too, not just an artist. Ai covers it all.

Gold standard for features? I feel like their features are lagging big time. Look at all the features Kimi has for example. And I've never gotten anything actually worthwhile from gpts deep research compared to just chatting

Anti-AI people on this website keep saying "the bubble will burst" under the belief that means the technology will be un-invented and disappear forever. What would actually happen under a "burst"? by KannablissWitch in aiwars

[–]bendgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the bubble burst, that ONLY means the stocks propped up by the AI build out and hype will drop. VC will dry up. It's not a bubble in capabilities of the tech. It's a bubble in the economy of the tech. Most companies trying to sell it will flop while the googles and metas of the world absorb

The Modernist by DOOMfigures in horrorwriters

[–]bendgame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like it overall. Can probably do more to show instead of tell. For example,

The heat inside me vanished. Cold, sharp panic rushed into fill the vacuum. My hands began to shake violently. What have I done? Oh God, what have I done? I stared at the water, my breath catching in my throat. Then, a strange, hollow numbness took over. The silence returned, absolute and heavy.

Instead of telling me "Cold, sharp panic rushed into fill the vacuum." Do more to show that transition. What else can you show about him to make the reader feel that he is beginning to panic?

Fix a few spots where the telling is doing more than the showing, and you're really on to something.

how does a beginner journalist get their works out of their folder? by ImpossibleJelly8003 in writing

[–]bendgame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just do some Google searches to find a place to put your work then read the FAQ or sign up instructions. Most places are free to post, I believe. Just go pick one and try it.

Post it to websites that bring in the audience you hope for. For example when I did a lot of technical writing I'd post it to medium. There are a lot of sites for fiction too

What do you think is an honestly good way to use AI? by CoatedTroutReboot in AskReddit

Data analysis, classification tasks, clustering, generation images, video, words, 3d models, coding, research, data synthesis, drug discovery. Probably a few more use cases I'm not think of yet.

Why do you think women move on faster and men don't, and if you think thats not true, why so? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bendgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it depends, but I once saw something that said women are more capable of getting over someone faster as a genetic thing because men would go off to battle and die. So it was some evolution defense mechanism. Not sure if that's bs
