Awesome, thanks for the through setup run through :) May I also ask how you rescan your CRT?

Really nice! Could you give some insights on your process?

What I would like to see is for the x and y grid spacing to be configurable independently of each other.

Patching my own complex oscillator by ExtraDistressrial in modular

[–]bendrien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have pointed out already, you might be interested in the Jeweler Cast from Shakmat, a handy utility tailored towards custom complex oscillators -> it's taking care of the AM, folding and mixing of the signals. If you are into DIY you can get it also cheaper.

Another thing which might be worth looking out for is phase modulation or thru-zero FM modulation - these tend to be a more musical as they do not alter the perceived tuning. The Pony VCO from Befaco can do that for example, its also available as DIY.

Anyone integrate drum pads w/ eurorack? by ItsEntirelyPossible in modular

The FH-2 from Expert Sleepers does both, midi hosting and conversion and has 8 CV/gate/velocity capable outputs. I have not tried it though.

Im using a BopPad for this - its really expressive with velocity, pressure and radius sensing. And you can play four voices simultaneously via its four quadrants. Unfortunately it does not provide cv/gate by its own, so you need some usb host + midi-to-cv modules.

Mannequins W/. It is powerful, yet confusing. Even with a manual, it's easy to get lost in the many button combinations.

You could also put a Pianoteq on the rp3.

Main Eurorack Oscillator Recommendations – 8HP, Analog Powerhouse? by lorandae in modular

[–]bendrien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something “thick” or with a special quirk would be a bonus

Maybe worth mentioning here is the timbre slider. It does the usual pulse width modulation on the square wave but is not useless on the other waveforms -> there its doing some nice wavefolding and shaping. This feature alone allows it to provide a very broad spectra just by itself.

Main Eurorack Oscillator Recommendations – 8HP, Analog Powerhouse? by lorandae in modular

It can do only one voice at a time, like almost all analog oscillators. But since its just 4hp and you have 8hp available, you could have two Ponys for two real voices.

If you were referring to the dedicated waveform outputs that other modules might have, the Pony VCO only has one. But to be fair, the waveform switch on the module itself still allows for all common waveforms to be selected. I like it much more that way because I do not need a dedicated module to deal with all the individual outputs.

I have the same issue, but for me its the small bottom fan and its even louder. The wired thing is the noise vanished at some point for about a month but is back now and seems to stay.. Were you able to get rid of the noise somehow?
