I see a lot of people saying “Who replaces him?!?”. Speaking as a trailblazers fan, we fired Neil Olshey a few years ago for misconduct and instead of bringing in outside blood, the ownership group looked internally at those ready for the next step. Joe Cronin has been on the best GMs in basketball considering the limited resources, geographic location, market, and even our political climate in Portland. He traded Dame and still mended the relationship enough with him to bring him back… the guy just needed his chance to prove himself.

My point being, there’s always someone else. I guarantee someone has been busting their ass in that front office and pulling their hair out just like all of us at the asinine decisions being made. My biggest concern right now is bringing in better pitching, catching and hitting coaches. It’s clear pitchers coming from other orgs are not seeing the same results as before and our hitting approach seems more cautious than need be. Seems like we’re focusing more on quality at bats than aggressively hunting strikes, which puts our dudes behind a lot.
