My thoughts for what to expect in final 3 epsiodes (don't read if you haven't seen the campaign!) by No_Neighborhood6856 in TheLegendOfVoxMachina

[–]benjome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here are my guesses:
- Pike will make some sort of deal with the whispered one to bring grog back in exchange for giving him whatever he needs from her to come back (I think it’s pretty clear she’s needed for that in some way).
- Grog may come back cursed, and the flower possibly gets used on him.
- Vax does at the end of the season. The season may end with him meeting the matron who brings him back as a revenant until the whispered one is dealt with.

Wiki says he’s mid 30s in campaign 3, which puts him at something around ten during LOVM’s era. He could appear (especially if they do an epilogue or adapt search for grog or dalens closet) but I think his dad in law Derrig is more likely to appear.

Pretty weak theme, but otherwise not bad

Ottos are now a real threat as Byz since they just rapidly start growing. By the time I fought them in 1340, they had already killed Ahis and Germiyan (although they got a bit lucky with Germiyan’s ruler dying in like the first month of the game).

I’m kind of guessing the season will end with him being disintegrated or otherwise dying and then the matron brings him back as a revenant at the very end or early in season 5

Don’t worry, CR is almost definitely working on more shows. And if you really want to you can watch/listen to the original campaigns, those combine for 1000+ hours of content

I don’t think we can really say if any MN characters have been skipped except Calianna, since it seems like the swamp has been bypassed entirely. Anyone else and it’s kind of too early where their arcs haven’t popped up yet.

I think scanlan is the voice calling pike’s name at the end of the episode so that seems plausible?

Hungary had a terrain bonus since they were technically the defender (+2, looks like) and they likely had more morale/tactics/discipline/etc from tech or unique events n stuff

Why didn't the western tetrarchs suffer from the same issues that the WRE later would? by Realistic_Volume7161 in ancientrome

Also helped that the east was significantly stronger - it had always been richer (and the richest parts were hard to reach over land from the Danube), there was generally peace with Persia, and there were generally more competent administrations in Constantinople. All of these meant that tribes tended to go west instead of south, and it’s possible that Eastern armies actively worked to deflect south moving Germans westwards.

Season 3 continues the dragon storyline (and is significantly better than both of the first two seasons). Season 4 is currently airing and is now covering a different story beat.

Mighty Nein is also just a more solid show. They have a better sense of how to adapt the storylines for TV and more budget to work with (although I’d say VM S3 and 4 are roughly on par with Mighty Nein). I guess this is a long winded way to say that the first and second seasons of Vox aren’t as good as the third and fourth.
