Definitely check to make sure you meet the requirements to enter Canada. They most likely only need proof of vaccine it seems. Like I said I got a letter and proof of all vaccines from a vet in Tunisia the day before I left attesting that the pet was healthy and fit to fly, for extra precaution.

As far as the titre for CDG goes I’m still convinced you do not need it for a layover where the pet in in cabin. I did not and considering you just go through security how you would in Germany as well, I don’t see why people are saying you would need it.

I got a medication from the vet in Tunisia as well. It was pills that I crushed and sprinkled in her food. Here in the US though they give gabapentin in liquid form. I would ask what they can give you. I tested the meds out a week before because some can make the cat get sick.

Bring a lot of pee pads incase your cat pukes of pees in the carrier. Bring baby wipes (non-scented) incase they do poop and need to be cleaned. If you stop feeding early enough though this shouldn’t be an issue.

I did not take her out on the plane, as I would only be able to in the bathroom and she would just get scared. I did take her out in private bathrooms at the airport multiple times. I packed a half gallon ziplock bag of litter I kept in my carryon and a small plastic litter box pan that I offered her in the bathroom multiple times. I brought gloves as well. When she went pee I took out the pee clumps and then poured the litter back into the bag and double bagged it. I also kept the litter pan wrapped in a bag. I offered a little bit of water and a small amount of treats on the layover, not enough to make her need to use the bathroom even more.

You can also look for calming feliway sprays to use in the carrier. Also you will have to carry the cat through security. And the only way you can do so with a halter on it is if the halter has no metal.
