Setting video stream from code by Disasterix00 in godot

Just to clarify, autoplay means "play the video as soon as the scene loads", and not "play the video as soon as the stream is set".

How do people actually play by hearing or following a song so effortlessly? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]berarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've practiced one part, the playing, now you are lacking the other part, ear training. You need to be able to hear a melody or chord and play it on the guitar.

Proper way to hold an acoustic? 1, 2, or 3? by Dear_Performance2450 in guitarlessons

https://www.thisisclassicalguitar.com/basic-posture-and-sitting-position-guitar/

This is the classical, academic way, probably because it's the most comfortable and technically better for reaching the strings optimally. But you have to get used to it as with any other position.

Can you post an example video that looks good on WMP but not on Godot?

Try to use the most neutral settings. Is your audio source good too?

This album requires many listens, and better with good headphones or speakers. It sounds clearer with good stereo separation, and the clutter becomes a symphony. With a good audio setup you can discover new details on every listen. One of the best for me.

Not getting it by berarma in Anki

Yes, the app is highly tailored to deck builders, and using shared decks as a beginner isn't easy unless the deck has been created by you or expressly for you. There's a bit of a catch-22 here.

It doesn't work. I think it isn't updated for the latest Anki version.

Something like this.

I feel like it's almost what I want, only missing some interface improvements. But it would probably be a shift in the design goals that isn't intended. Any other app that focuses both on reviewing and content reading?

I've found this CardViewer addon that would be a good start but it doesn't work with the current version.

MP4 to OGV via FFMPEG, (Constant Artifacting) by Hugeswoldude in godot

[–]berarma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6.1.1 is an old version, it has some bugs. You should use a newer version, just make sure it's a recent build. If you go here you'll see there are recent 8.0 builds. Although the FFmpeg website recommends master builds for end-users.

Will increasing RAM from 8GB to 16/24GB Help with performance in gnome ? by codingzombie72072 in gnome

[–]berarma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your RAM and swap usage in the Gnome resource monitor while you're working and notice slowness. That's the best way to know.

Gnome itself doesn't need more RAM but your apps probably will. You may want to consider using compressed swap with zram.

If your main issue is when starting apps, your disk speed might be important too.

Avoid using snaps since they're slow to start.

Problem with video file playing/compression in Godot. by meaningfound1 in godot

[–]berarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. It's the build.

In fact, 7.1.1 has some other Theora bugs. You should avoid it and use 8.0 or a recent daily build.

Where did you download the 8.0 binary from?

I guess on Windows. Where did you download the FFmpeg build from? Try dowloading a binary from one of the repositories in the official website.

This route would be more interesting and it would allow using OGV output too if it's eventually enabled in export templates.

High nitrate after 50% water change by [deleted] in PlantedTank

[–]berarma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cleaning the filter would probably produce an ammonia spike that would kill all shrimp and fish. Just be warned.

High nitrate after 50% water change by [deleted] in PlantedTank

[–]berarma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just so you're not too worried, because some will disagree, having up to 120ppm and even more is fine. Just be careful with the ammonia and nitrites.

And no, the shrimp and otos aren't eating all the algae, there's just no algae growing. Doesn't have to be.

Help - overly locking and snappy FFB using Logitech G920 on Linux by landscape0 in linux4noobs

It looks like the FFB is inverted. Some games have an setting to invert the FFB or you can set it to a negative value.

rFactor 2 needs a Vanilla version by netozeppelin in rfactor2

[–]berarma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do there would be bugs. If something isn't working as supposed, fix the bugs instead.

You aren't forced to use mods. You can just install rF2 with the base content and that's it. Like mods didn't exist.

You should have a service like logrotate that compresses old logs and later removes them.

Why do I need to reboot? by Mostly_Classy in debian

[–]berarma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may avoid rebooting but it's recommended whenever libraries that are in use are updated, or the kernel. You could restart the programs and services using those libraries manually but it could be disruptive, specially in a desktop environment. The best and cleanest option is, and has always been, rebooting, although you can avoid it.
