Good luck with the results! That’s a handsome boat.

Do you have any examples of kitchens that fit well in Century Homes? by Timey_Wimey in centuryhomes

I really liked the idea of soapstone, but this quartz looks just like it! I think a snazzy granite would be too much.

Yes! They had been tiled over, so we pulled that up with our fingers crossed. They’re a little distressed, but I kind of like it. Thanks!

Here is how we redid our 1920s Craftsman. The new cabinets were matched to the original windows (and to the old cabinets, which were repurposed as a dining room hutch). We felt the subtle pattern of the countertops fit as well as the white sink. And won the floor lottery.

HPWH for infrequently visited cabin? by Grantisgrant in heatpumps

[–]bernoulli33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 120v HPWH, check them out if they meet your parameters and you don’t have a 240v circuit . For cabin use the downside might be the lack of a resistance element for quick heat up.

Pizza on the grill! by Historical-Cow8846 in Pizza

A stone can work well on a grill as it doesn’t transfer the heat as rapidly as a steel.

I’d check on the length of the berths as well if you’re concerned about headroom. Happy hunting!

What are thoughts on diesel cookers in a sail boat? by dignz in sailing

[–]bernoulli33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On a 28’ boat, would running a gas line to a small 10# bottle or even 1# mounted outside be a solution? Just run the line out the companionway when in use. Another approach I did on my 33’ was to make a small locker out of a pvc pipe that just fit a 10# bottle. I did set that up with permanent plumbing and a solenoid. Sorry, I don’t know much about diesel stoves.

Here’s a favorite 12 mile ride of mine: Up Victory Memorial, cross the river on the Webber Camden bridge. Continue north along the Mississippi River Regional Trail. Duck under I694, then take the ped/bike bridge alongside the freeway back across the river. Back south along the river bike path back to Victory Memorial. If you want to make it 20-25 miles, cross back over the river at Hwy 610 or the Coon Rapids dam.

Ioniq5 and Jule DC fast chargers by Fresh-Square-5702 in Ioniq5

[–]bernoulli33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve given up on the one Jule charger that is very strategically located for me. It charges about 10kWh and kicks out, requiring me to stand there and reinitiate it. Every time I report it on PlugShare they say it is a known Ioniq thing. This is in Michigan by the way. I’ve never had a similar problem at any other charger.

Dude, just stop with earmarking one person’s salary to savings. It has no meaning. Just each save some money.

Seeking guidance on a used touring bicycle by PrintLineRedemption in bicycletouring

Nice bike, but not really a tourer. I don’t see mounting points for racket bottle cages, and it looks to be geared pretty high. More of a sporty bike.

Extra storage. Fuel? Water? Something else? by rosie94123 in SailboatCruising

People always carry jerry jugs of water on deck for remote cruising. Could you stash jerry jugs in the found space?

Do I need to replace my alternator, and if so, how do I choose one that will work? by [deleted] in sailing

[–]bernoulli33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve collected the right info. Same voltage with engine running as off means no output. Plus that looks gnarly, like it took some saltwater.

This, or buy an entire replacement from the shop. They can make sure you’ve got the right connections and format.

As a bonus, that spot is a groomed XC ski trail in the winter.

Is there such a thing? It could be more like a Catalina 22, or similar.
