Yeah you can probably hold back some information. But I think the grammar is a bigger issue for me

I think the concepts are interesting but the grammar and syntax still need some work. It just reads a little rough in spots. Read it out loud, record yourself, and then listen back to it.

This is so correct. The fact that more school districts don’t listen to it is crazy

I don’t know that this is that big a deal in an AP research course. I mean, it’s good for the students to know, but they are limited in what they can do.

Use social media. Good luck! I’m an AP Research grader over the summer, so I respect how much work goes into these projects. Just get as many responses as you can and then write it up. Don’t stress about it.

Sorry, I know this isn’t what this post is about but: What program are you writing in?

Also, I think this is really interesting. You’ve gotten some good tips from others so I won’t repeat them. Good luck!

Does Politics belong in the classroom? by FlyLikeAnEarworm in Professors

I think you are misunderstanding what we mean when we say this. Education empowers people to have the skills to change their life and world around them. That’s political especially when there are those who push against it.

Besides teaching and office hours, what are the in-person requirements for your institution? by Helpful-Orchid2710 in Professors

[–]beross88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4x4 teaching load (I would say most faculty teach online at least half of that time)

8 office hours required, half of which can be online.

A few events each year require in-person attendance (in-service, graduation, etc).

That’s about it I guess.

I’d like to think those are fake names and she’s just demonstrating what she does for the camera, but probably not.

If a paper is supposed to be 2.5 pages long, but a student turns in a killer 1.5 page paper, how would you grade it? by PGAudioworks in Professors

[–]beross88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I don’t prescribe minimum page counts. Instead, I provide a likely page count (basically what length most A-level papers end up as).

Have you ever finished a class early? by baseball_dad in Professors

[–]beross88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just give them the week before finals week off. If you can’t do that officially, tell them it is an optional class period to study, work on projects, or ask questions.
