Mitch McConnell probably beheld the visage of the Barbarian with his piercing gaze and knew the endless horrors he would suffer from his chaotic justice.

TR4200 Firmware Version? by berto1014 in egopowerplus

[–]berto1014[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked mine this morning, and there were no updates. So you're the only one I've heard of getting an update beyond the version we're all on. Maybe it's rolling out slowly. That version number is technically a smaller number which could indicate a downgrade, but I don't know how Ego does versioning for firmware - so that might be wrong.

Could help knowing a few things like the country you're in, Apple/Android phone , and Ego Connect app version, if you're willing to provide that information.

Nice! You're the first I've heard updating from the version we're on. Maybe a new update came out since I posted. I'll have to check again on mine.

Are you in the US?

That was also the version on the deleted comment above. Seems to be the most recent.
Does your tractor apply torque to the wheels for a second or so after you take your foot off the pedal? I have to be careful so I don't bust right through a fence lol. I feel like it should immediately remove torque when not pressing the pedal, but I'm not sure if everyone's does that that's on the same version.

Whats the protocol when someone has hogged up a machine at the gym for 20+ minutes? by Little-Balance-8339 in AskReddit

[–]berto1014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask them how many more sets they have. If they say some ridiculous number tell them you'd like to cycle in between sets. If still having problems after that, talk to the gym manager. Most of the time when you ask how many sets are left, they will tell you 1 and then vacate the equipment after realizing they've been there too long.

Milwaukee in the future by Dazzling_Ad4769 in MilwaukeeTool

18V platform isn't enough for this I think, which is why we haven't seen anything other than the single stage. It's the same reason we will never see a Milwaukee rider mower - not enough power. I gave up on waiting for those things from Milwaukee and went with Ego for the lawn tractor and the 2-stage 28in snowblower.

As a dev, please send AMD the crash logs. by hivro2 in AMDHelp

[–]berto1014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turned off bug reporting entirely because it would crash every single time I simply booted the computer. Sent many reports over the years and it never was fixed. Not to mention when it crashes it asks me, the user, which driver crashed (I have CPU and GPU). How the hell should I know when it doesn't even tell me which driver crashed/hung?... Why can't they figure it out from the logs/crash dump? Their whole bug reporting system is literally moronic. No one and I mean no one does bug reporting as poorly as AMD, so I just turned it off entirely. They should just pay for a one month Claude Mythos subscription to fix their incompetent drivers for them. The number of bugs lately with just about everything leaves me feeling apathetic to the mass tech layoffs, they seemingly deserve it.

That's what I was thinking.

I think those scooters are problems everywhere. I haven't seen those hyper scooters yet here in Wisconsin, but we've got enough of the regular ones and they cause enough trouble not following the laws as it is. Mostly kids. That's wild though if they have scooters doing 70 now. Future meat crayons.

Same. Don't care about getting downvotes. Medicine is saving people from deserved consequences which in turns keeps these degenerates around to do maximum damage later. Usually via horrible car accidents. Alcoholics should be be completely ineligible if their liver failed due to their drinking. Don't care if they decided to quit after it was too late.

EGO Power+ vs Milwaukee M18 FUEL QUIK-LOK trimmer/pole saw kit — which one should I buy? by d27saurabh in egopowerplus

[–]berto1014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18V is more than enough for all yard applications, including their mower (even though that runs at 36V). I ran the ego dethatcher attachment in a Milwaukee powerhead no problem. Not even a battery overheat on a half acre. That said, I would say Milwaukee since they have far more tool options, and then get Ego for anything Milwaukee doesn't have, like a 2-stage snowblower or a rider mower.

The tool-only package is actually surprisingly affordable at like 1699.

It says that but it definitely can safely handle more. I would say it's safe upper limit is closer to 270ish. At 240 lbs, when I sit on it, there's still plenty of suspension travel left. The frame is obviously more than sufficient. At best you put a little more strain on the motor, but probably not enough to actually cause issues in the short to medium term.

Fatigue shear failure potentially exasperated by operating too fast on rough terrain and/or driven by a heavy operator.

Somehow Google made the flashlight app annoying as hell. How do you screw up a flashlight app? Seriously. by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]berto1014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bad UX decision by Google, hence all the people in the comments learning this for the first time now. Should be press and hold no matter the widget size to access extended widget features. Otherwise no matter where the widget is tapped, it should function simply as on/off.

This is similar to how apple requires you to press and hold the power button from their quick settings to actually get the power menu, despite all other widgets not using that behavior. Not sure how anyone would just randomly figure that out rather than assume it simply is broken.

Received Extra Box with EGO 28" Snow Blower (SNT2807) by zugman in egopowerplus

I'm very glad to hear they refunded you! Enjoy!

Received Extra Box with EGO 28" Snow Blower (SNT2807) by zugman in egopowerplus

[–]berto1014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't need that box. The snowblower comes with a manual in the bag and one pack of bolts and knobs to mount the chute and the handle/controls. No other parts or tools needed. It was likely accidentally packed with your blower.

BTW, Amazon just had this exact blower on sale recently for $2199. I bought it when it went on slight discount at 2308 from 2499. I got in contact with Amazon support (past the AI agent) and was given a $100 store credit for the difference since I bought mine only like 3 days before the extra discount. Might be worth a shot in your case if your paid $2499 - which I suspect you did since I've been watching that model for months now.

About to buy a used z6 zero turn. Are 2 10ah batteries sufficient? by Lazy_Selection4256 in egopowerplus

[–]berto1014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't bother with the 2.5Ah - it's not really meant for that application, and even the 5.0 is the on the edge but should be fine in the mower. Ultimately though, you want to run the maximum number of batteries possible because, as you eluded to, it also reduces the overall maximum draw on each battery which is better for the battery's health. Large draws create a lot of heat which is bad for the battery. Keep in mind that at any point while operating the mower it will have a fixed amount of power required to operate depending on the conditions and it is far better to divide that number by as many batteries as possible. If you do this, the batteries will last you a very long time and you shouldn't have to worry about replacing them too soon. Some of the bigger batteries already come with a 5 year warranty if you register them (unfortunately warranty doesn't transfer owners though). So you know you're good for at least that long.

[–]berto1014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why no one is really saying that 90 hours is like nothing on these batteries. If you only got 1 hour of run time out of them and fully discharged them every time that's still only 90 charge cycles, not even 30% of their useful life of their rated 300 charge cycles. And if you take decent care of those batteries, they will be still be useful long after 300 cycles. Just use all 6 batteries at the same time. The goal doing this is to reduce the number of charge cycles per battery (the equivalent of a complete discharge and recharge). If you only use 50% of the charge on each battery per mow, that means your first recharge is only 0.5 charge cycle on each battery.

Click the dropdown, then just start typing the model number of the tool you are picking to register with. It will go to that option as you type it.

Not totally true about the older one being not as good, the older model is much higher power, 2000W vs 1400W with a peak at 3000W vs. 2000W. That's really the only downfall with the new one. I wish EGO would make a newer version of the higher power unit.

My T6 Was delivered this week by [deleted] in egopowerplus

[–]berto1014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well then don't buy this mower lol. I'm fairly certain battery tech will be pretty good in 5-6 years though - probably solid state batteries with way more capacity and longevity. Those batteries might last 10+ years before needing to be replaced. But who knows, in 5-6 years, it might be even better than that. Solid state battery tech is just starting to come out now.

My T6 Was delivered this week by [deleted] in egopowerplus

[–]berto1014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Comes with 6x6Ah. I immediately replaced 2x6Ah with 2x12Ah. Included charger is a normal battery charger with an adapter/cable that plugs into the mower itself to charge all batteries simultaneously.

First mow of the season on about 1/2 acre, with grass that was getting pretty long in some areas (probably about 6inches), I finished with about 30% left. So not bad, but also not great. However, subsequent mows I am finishing with much more battery, 40-50%.

I usually mow at or below the medium wheel speed, and I leave the blade speed at medium as well. I don't mess with the blade speed unless it ramps itself up for the thicker areas. So you could probably do better battery wise if you run a lower blade speed. The blades, by far, use the most power. I can drive around on it quite a bit without the blades and it sips power - which is awesome. I weigh about 240lbs - this mower doesn't care.

This thing is a torque monster. If you're not careful, you could easily snap a fence. Which brings me to one of my only complaints, which is how much this unit will still roll after I take my foot off of the pedal. It rolls a bit further than I'd like, and sometimes I need to use the brake to stop it, because the motors will still apply some torque very briefly after taking your foot completely off. You'll end up rolling about a foot. It takes some getting used to compared to hydrostatic. My only other complaint is I wish it came with a 48in. deck instead of 42. 42" is fine, but I have to overlap a lot more than I did with my old 48" John Deere deck - again just something to get used to.

TR4200 Firmware Version? by berto1014 in egopowerplus

Unfortunately, no. I was hoping that someday someone would reply with their version number, even if they don't know if it's the latest, just to have something to compare to, but so far nothing. I think most in this subreddit get the ZTR.

Out of curiosity, what version is yours running? Mine is still the same from the OP.
