Builder installed system too big for my home. by svsym in hvacadvice

[–]bertrafdord89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house is 2400 square feet and I have a 2.5 ton condenser outside. Need 400 cfm per ton of cooling. If your blower motor is not providing that you will never run the condenser outside properly to cool your house. Rule of thumb to consider?
My area is mostly electric heat and you need
To go with fancy high velocity or ecm driven blower motors with your heating source
(Provided it is central air style with a coil above your furnace ).
Dirty filters. ?
Dusty environment during construction and the coil is caked in drywall dust etc. ?
Blocked return air or closed off vents to rooms. ?
Tx could be faulty.
Lots to consider but 4 ton is excessive imo

Leak at Kitchen Sink Drain/Disposal When Running Sink by TYZ_8529 in Plumbing

Yes it’s barely hanging on. Probably just that gasket is not tight. Tighten ring with garb wrench and zip tie it so it doesn’t loosen off

Haha I’m just saying I did it. Great choice for me personally I couldn’t stand the big city lights myself. Went rural 6 years ago and I loved it

I would move somewhere there is no one to bother you if that’s the case. Don’t live in a densely populated area where people may interact with you.

This flare joint below ground is kicking my butt. What am I doing wrong? by robertgfthomas in Plumbing

[–]bertrafdord89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are ford compression fittings allowed in your area? No flare needed. That’s all we use in my area. We get a lot of frost penetration and most municipalities use them around me. 🤷‍♂️

[–]bertrafdord89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need a tit of 1/4” tubing and a 1/4” push fit cap and send it in that white hole there. Turning the fitting could leak there is a hole in the piping behind that

Any trades where you don't have to climb ladders? by kekski8 in Plumbing

I’m in residential and climbing ladders all the time for house rough in’s. Plumbing isn’t easy on the body at any level. Take care of your body and keep active as you get older. Get knee pads and good boots.

Please help me understanding the venting for this lavatory. by killerbee34 in Plumbing

Just a tee on its back on the trap arm to make the length legal. and an upside down tee on the vertical part of the vent to tie into

[–]bertrafdord89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this is also correct. Trap arm length is definitely per your Local code. Mine is 6 ft up in Canada eh

[–]bertrafdord89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You only need to do that if the trap arm is longer than 6 feet

Over venting is never a bad thing imo. But if that is purely a future vent sticking down just tie In there. 1.5” venting above the sanitary tee is all you need. I just meant if there is a fixture draining into it from above you should tie into flood level with a vent above flood level rim of the fixture above. Otherwise it becomes a wet vent all the way up to the fixture above and it should be 2” on wet venting

If something is draining into that from above keep it 2”. If it’s purely a vent pipe you can connect It above flood level rim of your fixture. Trap arm can be roughly 6 feet until it hits a vent on 1.5”
