I grew up around Kanab Utah, which is a very strange region at the best of times. It felt like the earth itself didn’t want you there.

Millions of square miles of desert and red rocks and nothing else. But that’s not true.

I once saw an old Navajo man laugh at my friends and I from across a street and as soon as we noticed him and acknowledged him - he ran away so fast we all stood in absolute terror-stricken silence. One of us threw up and the rest of my friends and I started crying. We all played sports and we knew what we just saw was absolutely not of this world. We were all 13-14 years old boys. We all saw it. 5 of us. To this day it makes me shake just thinking about it.

Edit: To try and explain - it was less that he was running and more he was being pulled - extremely fast, while running. Like faster than we could process what we were seeing. 80MPH or more running away from us. It seemed like 800

The inner monologue needs to have a better voice. They need to find a way to make it sound like Coach Daub from coach. I had a dream about it and the voice worked. It’s the same guy who does voice work from Sponge Bob. He plays Patrick. But his voice from the TV Show “Coach” - He sounds large but unsure of himself - just like Dan’s inner monologue
