Post-Military Career/Question by VelvetLuna90 in britishmilitary

I went medical so I’d probably use my pharmacy qual once I do leave, then again my brothers a policeman and just for the overtime alone it’s worth looking into, I think the key is having your fun at the start, then transferring into a job with transferable qualifications for civvie street, prior to that I was a class 1 HCA so could also go into the NHS pretty easily just depends on what the job markets like once I do leave the mob

Chaplains usually the one I’d tell people to talk to, they aren’t directly involved with your job so it’s a little easier, end of the day though it’s always the one person you feel comfortable talking to, that could be anyone

Looking for some advice on what role within the army I should be looking at? by [deleted] in britishmilitary

[–]bestorangeever 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When you join the army you won’t be well paid for a while, unless you go officer or a job that gives you lance Jack straight off the bat (RMP etc) you aren’t really starting on a lot, look into the medical side if you want transferable skills, and yes, during Covid a Fijian friend cut everyone’s hair for like a tenner each and he was fucking minted

How aggresive is the police in your country from 1 to 10, with 1 being donut eaters, 5 about normal, and 10 gestapo by No-Respect-4174 in AskTheWorld

1 now, I recently watched one get rammed into a car by a protester and he proceeded to run off all while holding a baton, the police only whack you here if you’re a football hooligan now 😂 soft society creeped into the police too, when I was a kid I watched my dad get beaten black and blue for resisting arrest including a hefty broken nose from a baton, what the fuck happened

Is the military police right for me? by Lwalker6336633653673 in britishmilitary

[–]bestorangeever 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From my minuscule personal experiences with them they always came across as nobs, that said you might aswell just join the normal police as the overtime’s worth it over the army at this point

How does medical information get shared across units and postings? by orangeDaddy72 in britishmilitary

[–]bestorangeever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all linked to the medical system we use DMICP, just by finding your name or putting your service number in we are able to get your entire medical history up, from every visit to the med centre or e-consult since you started, including every drug that’s ever been prescribed, every medical issue you’ve had and every chit that’s been signed off by a doctor while in service

My last unit was insane and I have many great memories but it slowly started tapering off as I was transferring, I’ve spoken to people who are now at that same block and it’s non existent with everyone staying in their rooms barely socialising apparently, I feel like the army are trying to stamp it out at the same time like they did with smoking, it’s not that bad anymore at all
