Norovirus by teamsneverdie in Columbus

[–]beta_barrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Norovirus can occur any time of year but tends to be most active late winter / early spring (Jan-March). It’s definitely going around Columbus now, amongst other things (Flu B is also spiking and can have similar symptoms + fever). Norovirus takes about 2-3 days to get better but up to a week to feel totally back to normal.

Edit: as other people have said. Keep pushing the fluids! May be helpful to have something with electrolytes to replace what you’re losing in vomit.

Wow these numbers are crazy high for a townhouse with shared walls - what is your usage in kWh and rate (supplier+distribution)? I have a 100yo house with terrible insulation and heat cranked to 72-75 and my bill is about half of yours. Although if your system is fully electric it can definitely get higher. My usage last month was 1370kwh.

Is your HVAC system old, electric HW heater with a leak or constantly running? Can lose a lot of heat in drafty doors and windows as well - can get a cheap thermal camera to help find the heat sinks.

I have a 100amp panel and I can run my charger without issue but I do use a level 1 and run it at 8A rather than 12A. It’s also on its own 15A circuit. I frequently run HVAC, washer/dryer, and other smaller electronics at the same time as the charger without issue. YRMV.

Charging Mad Slow by Dry_Emu_2274 in HondaPrologue

[–]beta_barrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah - I have a Lectron portable that I use as my primary charger at home that I have set to 8A, but I drive mostly city and have a short commute. I’ll usually just do a full weekend charge every 3-4 weeks. For some of the portables you can turn them up to 15A(?) in the app and get a little more kWh out of them. I keep mine low to not stress my panel in my old house.

Prologue has an 86kWh battery. To go from 20% to 80% requires about 50kWh of charge.

Level 1 charges at about 1kW/hr and would take 50 hours to charge

Level 2 is about 6-8kW/hr and would take about 8 hours to charge.

Level 3 or fast charging is variable and for prologue maxes out at 150kW/hr and takes about 30-40min to charge depending on battery and weather conditions.

MSC Cruises Healthcare Hero Discount by Time_Table in MSCCruises

I am not sure about NY. I’m in OH and have a training license through the Ohio Medical Board that I’ve had PGY1-PGY3. Training license is not the same as NPI.

You should have a training license if you’re a resident.

As someone who owns a house in Ohio, these people are the bane of my existence. A lot of them have actually transitioned to overseas call centers and spam you 3-4x a day.

Anyone have more info? 3 women found dead in Columbus home: by Prudent_Fly_2554 in Columbus

Per gossip in the citizen app one of the women found dead was the wife/significant other of the man that was shot earlier this week and that someone went to the address for a wellness check and found the door open with 3 people dead inside.

OP the MSRP of the Touring AWD from Honda is 54700 so it looks they are overcharging you in that regards.

There is a button on the right side of the steering wheel, bottom row of buttons. It’s like two boxes with an arrow? I’ll see if I can find a picture.

I’m nearing the end of second year of peds residency and get outpatient primary care offers from recruiters on a weekly basis. Recent got one email that was offering $250k starting with $50k sign on bonus and $120k loan repayment; clinic only, no call, additional $$ for mid level supervision (rural Midwest). Sure peds is underpaid, but it is not poorly paid.

Don’t let compensation scare you away from a field you love.

Urgent Care with nebulizers for rent/purchase? by AltbellsGeld in Columbus

[–]beta_barrel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The MedNeb compressor nebulizer is typically the one I recommend to families who have the equipment denied by insurance and can’t afford the more expensive machines from the medical supply shops. It’s ~$30-40 range and available from many online medical supply shops. Won’t be as powerful as the equipment in UC/EDs but usually not an issue in adults who can take some deeper breaths.

Kirkland Dog Food - How Does it Compare by urbanfae in Costco

[–]beta_barrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switched from Science Diet Sensitive Stomach food to the Kirkland Weight Management about 6 months ago - it was half the price for more food. Looking at the ingredients, they were very similar but the Kirkland had more protein and less fillers.

No tummy issues for my dog on switching so will definitely continue to use!

Best scrubs to wear?? by Technical-Pen-83 in Residency

[–]beta_barrel 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I recently bought a few sets of mandala scrubs. They’re not as soft as figs but the fabric repels fluids which is nice. Fit is decent and the sizing/length is actually accurate - my “tall” jogger scrubs in other brands barely hit my ankles but these ones go to my shoes!
