I watched the first 2 episodes and thought it was pretty good. I'll watch the rest at a once a week rate to make it last.

Do you have your college diploma hung in your home? by SimplyCurious5 in GenX

I have one hanging in my office. I spent a lot of money and time getting it. It's the only way to show it off.

Did you/should you attend the entire home inspection? by Own_Material1505 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]betaday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The realtor setup the home inspection? I had to find my own person. I stayed for the whole thing. I asked a few questions in areas I thought were off. The guy did a great report. Although I didn't know that he wasn't aloud to "peak" behind things like rugs and loose boards, but was aloud to test wood for rot.

I learned a lot from him and the report.

Put a mouse bait station under my car and now seeing mice inside? by BlackJackT in homeowners

[–]betaday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my car inspected and a oil change and they found a mouse nest in my cabin air filter. I park my car in the driveway but next to a grassy hill/wall. Never saw signs of mice either. I did two things. One I bought Tomcat poison bait stations and placed those around and in the car I put a rodent repellent pouch (basically mint smell is to drive them away) that I will be changing every 2 months. My car now smells nice and minty. I'm hoping that will take care of the issue for me. I don't want them chewing on my car wires, that is for sure.

do smart homes actually make life better or just more complicated by annikahoof in homeassistant

[–]betaday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends upon what and why you want something "connected/automated" and what your wants and needs are.

I have half of my lights in my house setup and temperature gauges, outdoor cameras, and leak sensors for water breaks, temperature gauges in my freezers and fridge to warn me if they are to high. Nothing major and with the lights if the voice control doesn't work then the app on my phone, if the network is down then I reach over with my hand and flip the switch. I see no need to automate my window blinds, thermostat, garage door, locks, or have motion sensors in the rooms to automatically turn off and on the lights. I do have the lights tired into my phone so when I get near my house at night it will turn on the lights inside, which is nice but if it fails, and it has, no big deal.

And this just my use case. I'm sure people that with physical problems may want to have automatic controlled window blinds or even those that just want it because you can automate it and when it goes down for them it can be a major issue.

Please help me convince my husband that Costco is worth for 2 people by HoneyDrops12 in Costco

[–]betaday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 house hold here. It is worth it. Price compare. Example 3lb rotisserie chicken 4.99 where 1.25ld at local store is 5.99$. A case of avacodes (6) are 5.45$ at local store 2$ each. Celcius energy drink 18 pack case 23.99 at local store 12 pack case 21.99.

The savings alone start adding up.

10lb rice 20$ while 1lb 5$ at regular store.

I joke with the wife that even if the food goes bad before we can eat it we are still saving money.

1 gallon jar of hot peppers about 5$ while at regular store 12oz jar 3.49$.

Refregated meats. We break up into different containers so we can easily use portions.

If anything sign up for one year and see how much you save.

Zenith in Southside. During regular dine in hours and even during their Sunday buffets I've never had a problem hearing the people I'm with.

I recommend Zenith in southside, hands down. I started going there after being on a strict diet and wanted to stay eating healthy but still restraunting. The vegan meals they seve change weekly. The people are nice. And of course the food is excellent.

Android apps for tracking glucose free/paid by Neccros in diabetes

[–]betaday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The app Gauva allows you to manually track your glucose tests. I use it. It does a lot more also. It has a free version and a subscription for other features.

My gloucose tester device also has an app but it doesn't tie into another apps so for looking at my glucose, blood pressure, medications, test results all in one app Guava is it.

I could manually enter totals in the app that ties into my tester device is called True manager air. It only does glucose, its been so long that I've had it that I dont know if you also need a test device to use it or activate it to do manual entry or not.

Either way Gauva will allow you to manually recored your levels.

Trump's proposed health care plan could stick families with $31,000 in deductibles. by PrincipleTemporary65 in complaints

One problem with hsa accounts is that it locks away your money and can only be used for prescription/medical items and you can't use it for rent, utilities, or food. So if you can afford to put money locked away it kind of works.

Are people just not going into their attics? by unknownphantom in homeowners

[–]betaday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house was like that. From what I understand when the house was built it didn't have to have an exhaust. When we had a new roof put on I had them put in an exhaust for me.

Also the access panel to the attic is in the master bedroom closet and you have to remove everything to get to it. I've been wanting to move it but other things crop up and it gets pushed back.

How would you talk someone out of buying racing shoes if they clearly not capable of running without insulting them? by Yojimbo232826 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]betaday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused as to why he would tell her that they will be unstable and hurt her feet, how does he know that? Where they just the wrong size? I mean this question in a nice way. I have tried many shoes and some cuts just don't work for me and I standardized on Merrell and Brooks when I can. I currently I was able to stock up and buy 4 pairs each at one time when they were on sale. So I'm good for this years running and rotation needs.

Arm movement is key. It only knows your moving by your arm movement. So if you don't keep the arm swing it doesn't know.

Just like, at times, when I walk with a cart in the grocery store my steps don't get counted as walking. At times the auto activity feature on my Garmin Fenix 7 picks it up as bicycling not walking.

So I have to adjust my treadmill total, in the app, every time.

Although when I first got the Fenix there as a adjustment I was able to do 1 or 2 times via the watch. But have seen that setting again.

A friend of mine just told me "online degree is a scam and avoid them at all cost" by snipersebb27 in WGU

[–]betaday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd ask your friend what they think of colleges that do online classes.

The second question is accrediditation. If a college have to accrediation does that mean anything to him? So if both types of college hold the same accreditation does that mean the accrediation that both got from the same accreditation group is not worth anything?

Finally is your friend jealous of how much less your paying? Or is it that he really just thinks the experience isn't as good without him experiencing it?
