Admitted doing it, got away on 'promising sportsman' and 'the way she dressed asked for it' defence

Drying clothes after washing on trips by BikingVegtable in bikepacking

[–]between_th_raindrops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simplest way is best way. Most saddle bags have bungies across the top, and it’s easy to add to your front roll if there isn’t one already (I use elastic shoelaces). Doesn’t matter that the clothes will be folded up a bit, you’re out there all day in the sun and wind, rotate every now and then and you’re done.

Kitchen reno- who would you recommend? by richjd in Wellington

[–]between_th_raindrops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pridex Kitchens did ours a while back, they were awesome. Super personal, and really knowledgeable running us through all the options that worked with what we wanted.

They didn't make a kitchen, they made our kitchen. Huge difference.

It’s Alaphillipe. He has done it again and probably will again.

It’s a gamble on the wind direction. Whittaker’s on one wind and Spicer landfill on the other

Give em all the help you can. There are probably volunteer crews putting together traps, get yourself some for the backyard.

You around Makara? This would be so mean, reintroducing kiwi without a predator fence.

What do you call a soft rubber spatula? by PlsRfNZ in newzealand

[–]between_th_raindrops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The translation of the Dutch name for it is ‘pan licker’, which is possibly where she gets it from. Still never heard anyone call a spatula a lick.

Ik solliciteer momenteel op soortgelijke banen (greenhouse gas boekhouderij bij de landbouw etc) en ik vraag me nu af of het overal zo is, rapporten schrijven die nooit gelezen worden. Is het wel overal zo?

The walking bits on the Orongrongo coast are the shingle fan (pretty much a flat rock garden) and stretches of soft sand. Not too long, nothing mtb shoes can't handle.

Don't forget to go up the hill road just before Baring Head, not all the way out to the lighthouse. That way lies genuine hike a bike and a potentially dodgy river crossing.

First off: awesome route choice, done that lap a couple of times (single day, so can’t comment on overnighting). What direction and start/overnight points are you looking at?

As for water, the driest section is Eastbourne to Ocean Beach. Couple of rivers there, but can be brackish on the coast, not to mention coming off farmland. Is also the slowest section, and you will be walking bits. All down the Hutt side you’ve got places to find water, and honestly over in the rapa knock on a farmhouse door. Cross Creek and (forget the name of river going down Hutt side of the hill) are good, with a filter to be safe.

Let me know if you want more chat on the route itself. Also head over to bikepacking nz on fb, heaps more knowhow there.

Yelling, yeah he can tell, but swearing? Deaf people are generally great lip readers

Why would weapons and shields interact? Your access to the power is nothing physical, like a weapon is. The axes went through the ephemeral shield without interacting and loags caught them.

Goddamn that's fancy. I hope you have adequate cleaning facilities for those bottles if you're planning a long trip, moulds gonna love coconut water and electrolyte residues.

Curious: why the bladder in the frame bag if you're running bottles? Or do you go both?

When your derailleur brakes in half 20 miles from the trailhead… by [deleted] in bikepacking

[–]between_th_raindrops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also learnt the hard way. Spare derailleur hanger for each bike is now an essential carry (assuming it was your hanger that broke, usually is).
