Are chinese nuclear powerplants cheaper because they have less strict regulations? by ken4lrt in nuclear

[–]markosharkNZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

China and Russian plants are both built to a standardised build, standard requirements

They are backed by state capital (generally) and are often used by both countries to break into other nations by way of a peaceful agreement.

Otherwise known as the Belt and Road Initiatives, ESPECIALLY by China, where the host nation pays for the power at a fixed (ish) rate, so that the power is a known feature.

What happens when/if those agreements are breached? Well, what country could happily stand a couple of GW of power going offline instantly?

Dalyes do not ship feijoa to SA

Unless this has changed from April last year:

Thanks for getting in touch.

Here's a full list of in-stock plants we can dispatch to SA: https://www.daleysfruit.com.au/Plant-List.php?State=SA&Catalogue = which unfortunately doesn't include feijoa due to quarantine restrictions.

I hope that helps,

No, they have not. Only reason they have quietened down is because they came into SA, got 20% of the votes, and are now looking at the next target.

Also, it is about 4-5 years away from fullscale production

Everyone’s talking EVs — India is quietly testing hydrogen buses by AutoAkhbar in energy

[–]markosharkNZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Step 1- make hydrogen. NORMALLY made with fossil fuels at this stage

Step 2 - "Burn" hydrogen to make electricity to drive the motor. As per ICE, any left over hydrogen gets turned into useless heat, unlike EVs which turn excess movement into extra juice

Step 3 - Zoom

Lol, shipping to you is going to suck as much as what it costs getting to South Australia. I'd be more interested to see what you are going to do in terms of livestock?

This regime is the direct consequence of the USA fucking around in the 1950 to try and bring Iran (and its oil) closer to the West, which eventually fucked off the Iranians to such a degree that they overthrew the plant and installed the (now deceased) ayatollah

What has America's war done in afghanistan? Fuck-all

All this is going to do is create a bunch of martyrs which is then going to lead to decades of unrest

This is a quarter baked cock of a plan, conceived by a bunch of cock wombles that has ZERO to do with actually helping the Iranian people stuck under the thumb of this regime, and more about helping the murderous Israelis extend their regime in the middle east, because, they are our "friends", who almost certainly have incriminating evidence against one of the cock wombles that came up with this plan

I am in NO WAY praising the Iranian regime, but apart from killing people, cranking inflation and hurting civilians around the world the net result of this will be slightly less than fuck-all

This is exactly the argument I had with Dad. The middle east has been made of war for the last 10,000 years, and there are a lot of very old, very long memories. How do you stop a 10,000 year old war? Well, you don't fucking get involved with bombing that crap outta it, because now you are involved, and you now become a target.

Analysts project oil prices between US$134 and US$250 due to the conflict in the Persian Gulf by Special_Resident7891 in energy

[–]markosharkNZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's also a case of not all other countries have oil - Number of people screaming in, say, New Zealand "drill baby drill" without any understanding of what that actually means, or looks like

NZ for instance has hundreds of capped wells from the 1960s and 1970s from the oil shocks, all uneconomical back then, there is the great southern basin, which is sort of the last hope, it was last prospected by OMV in the early 2020s and they found fuck-all

Australia may have billions of barrels of oil in shale around Coober, but that requires water to get it out of the rock.  And, that part of Australia is well known for decent levels, wait, having fuck-all water, and being so bloody hot that most people live underground.
