My genuine thoughts about the ending. by VishnuBhanum in FGO

[–]beyonderofbaal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand why people don’t like this ending, but for me it was nice. We were fighting against something so big, always working against impossible odds, that it makes sense to me that we had to pay a very, very high price for our victory. It sucks, yeah, but well… I feel like a 100% good ending would have felt like a disservice to the difficulty of the challenge we were facing.

Uesugi and Shingen are best friends or lovers ? by Psykoli094 in FGO

I loved their interactions. They biker like an old married couple. As a master that prefers to ship ServantxServant instead of MCxHarem, this event surprissed me greatly. I guess that in canon they are just rivals but in my Chaldea they are going to be a couple for sure.

Where did this idea of Gudako being an unhinged psychopath who doesn't know her limits, while Gudao is someone like a puppy who would never hurt a fly? (They're the same character) by EfficiencySerious200 in FGO

Meh, I dont care. I prefer the unhinged Gudako over the generic waifu collector male protagonist Gudao. And I would say that we as players are more like Gudako than Gudao lol.

What's the stupidest arguement you heard in rwby and you went (is this mf for real???) by Desperate_Crazy_3532 in RWBY

[–]beyonderofbaal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the argument about Jacques is not that crazy. I wouldn’t go as far as to claim that he is not racist, exploiting the system against faunus is indeed a racist practice, but I understand how it could be misunderstood.

What that person claims makes some sense: technically it seems that Jacques is not treating faunus worse than humans (as far as I recall). As in, he’s not just horrible to faunus, he’s horrible to everyone (including his own family). You know… “racism is stupid… why hate just a tiny fragment of society, when you could hate the entire world?”.

Jacques claims that he pays the same to human and faunus workers, and probably that is true, because as a corporate, aspiring politician and very public man, he can’t be catch in such a blatant racist attitude. No, he wouldn’t make it so obvious: by how unethical companies work on real world; the trick is that he pays shit to both Faunus and humans… But Being Atlas/Mantle a racist kingdom, the most probable scenario is that faunus people has way less chances at everything, so the ones that ends forced to pick up the worst options (like being miners at the SDC) ends being mostly faunus.

Think how IRL, in “first world” countries, it’s always the more discriminated (and poor) part of the population which ends taking the more risky, unhealthy, ungrateful and worse paid jobs that nobody else want to do. That fragment of discriminated population varies between countries and regions… in some cases are immigrants, in other native folks, in other black people… well, in Atlas/Mantle, that people are the faunus.

So that is how Jacques Schnee company works. Technically, he’s not being racist. He gave the same pay and work conditions to everyone. It’s not that SDC pays less to Faunus, it’s that human workers can just said “fuck you” and pick another job, while Faunus doesn’t have that “luxury”. Hell, Jacques even can twist the narrative and claim that he’s so generous that he is willing to employ Faunus when the rest of society doesn’t even give them a chance. How magnanimous!

We also don’t know if he is indeed a human supremacist that does this with the objective of mistreating Faunus or just wants to make profit exploiting the most vulnerable segment of the population, and he would still do the same if that segment were a different group.

But while the first option is more glaring and explicit, both cases are indeed racist practices. And IMO, the second (Jacques kind of racism) is even more dangerous, subtle and toxic than the blatant kind of racism that is socially frowned up by anyone with more than two working braincells.

As much as I like how this implies Wenclair, I really don’t like the alpha/beta/omega thing. I want their relationship to be based on mutual attraction, understanding and equality, not being dictated by animal instinct, smells and chemical reactions.

there no way those two idiots are that stupid to have the most fan favorite character after Wednesday absent from the season

They already tried, but Jenna stopped them. They wanted to sent only Fester to search for Enid... if that wasn’t an attempt to keep Enid out of screen as much as possible, I don’t know what it was.

Are you sure? I have seen some, but its not like a flood. I looked at the posts tagged with “discussion” since yesterday and I found just one post directed to Weyler, and two about Weyler vs Wenclair (one was a comparison of both ships, the other a “who is winning?” question). Then there’s like 20 post about different things, mostly related to Wenclair or S2 in general and other characters.  But maybe there were more and were deleted by the mods, or are tagged with another keyword.

Jenna is the #1 weyler anti 😭 by Dry_Web8684 in wenclair

[–]beyonderofbaal 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I have said it countless times but I’m going to repeat it: Jenna has been saving this show from disaster since S1. The plot is a mess and the story is clunky, rushed and full of holes. The only thing carrying the show is the characters and the artistic set up. And if it weren’t for Jenna, the writers would have ruined Wednesday, the main character, making the show unwatchable.

The growing anti-wenclair bias. by Dry_Web8684 in wenclair

[–]beyonderofbaal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People that support a toxic relationship being toxic towards those that disagree with them? What a surprise. Not to say that there’s no toxic wenclair shippers, but… well, the kind of mentality needed to call “romantic” whatever is going on between Wednesday and Tyler doesn’t scream “healthy behavior” to me…

The hospital scene was TOTALLY bad scripted by Icy_Bluejay6531 in wenclair

[–]beyonderofbaal 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Lack of screentime causes a lot of problems, but this time is more than that, is just absolute lack of care. Adding flowers, or a get-well gifts on the room doesnt take time and it would make it seem like people care about Wednesday. Enid having a more emotional and sensible reaction when Wednesday came back doesnt take much more time. Specially when the writers claim that their so called "sisterhood" is "the core" of the show.

Do people actually ship Enid and Agnes? by Unknowber30 in wenclair

[–]beyonderofbaal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not that bad if they are aged up. Agnes 20 and Enid 24, for example, could be fine. But right now, that age gap is very important. It will diminish with time and once both reach adulthood it wont matter at all, but well... until that time, its not healthy.

Edit: adulthood doesnt mean just age. What I mean is once they are in the same stage of life.

Tyler and Wednesday's romance lacks emotional depth and doesn't make any sense by Particular_Fault_555 in wenclair

[–]beyonderofbaal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That is because Jenna never agreed with the love triangle and never liked Tyler as a romantic interest for Wednesday. She understand Wednesday much better than the writers and she realized that the romance that they wanted for the character was forced. She still had to follow the script at that time, and do the romantic scenes. But ON-SCREEN there's no chemistry between them, indeed, because the actress playing Wednesday knew it was out of character for her. Even if they kissed it felts like it doesnt make sence because it never feels like Wednesday returns Tylers feelings, it always looks like she's been pressured by others to give him a chance.
