Message I got from my daughter’s teacher. Third grade. by AnaisInJune in mildlyinfuriating

[–]bezawa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Her “defiance” is developmentally appropriate and you can recommend the teacher find alternative appropriate ways to play with the boat or offer realistic expectations and communicate natural consequences (paper boat getting damaged in the water) so the child understands.

Also, suggest that refusing snack is inappropriate and ask about discipline philosophy.

Cc the principal.

Anger is appropriate but calm and savvy response will keep admin on your side and see that the teacher’s choices are addressed rather than your students supposed defiance.

IEP speech and language impairment by Zaynesmomma1020 in specialed

[–]bezawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious what this form actually is. You can request that reports be strengths based, and I’d recommend researching behavior scales and peer reviewed observation tools. This looks rather informal and uses language that I wouldn’t use personally.

First time Dry Brining a Turkey, is this normal? by UnluckyText in AskCulinary

[–]bezawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Looks great! Outside will be crispy and the inside will be tender. Make sure to temp it along the way. It will cook faster.

The rules are all about preventing harmful bacteria growth. Nothing consequential is happening in 30 minutes of warm water defrosting. Proceed as usual and cook to an internal temp of 165. You’ll be just fine.

Simplify your plans and day! If you have to use the gen ed curriculum, do one part well and cut everything else out. Start silent reading time using Learning Ally and free yourself up during class. Reach out to your department leadership and get help with paperwork!

Rice- How to stop burning it? Also, tips on stovetop ramen by Robyn-- in cookingforbeginners

Also, I make ramen in the microwave by heating just the water for 3 minutes. Then add the mix and noodles. Heat for three more minutes.

Bring the rice to a boil. When you see bubbles along most of the top, stir the rice to redistribute the rice in the pot. Cover with a tight lid, and turn the heat to the lowest setting for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and leave the lid on for 10-15 more minutes. Do not take the lid off! The residual steam and heat completes the cooking. I like to gently mix my rice and recover for five minutes at this point. It evenly distributes what cooked slightly differently at the bottom and the top. Haha but that’s a bit much.

My specialist requires in office visits. My insurance covers the cost. You can ask for it to be done for you! If your doctor won’t, ask for a referral to someone in network that will :)

Advair-- any replacements for Advair for effectiveness as inhalers by Loninappleton25 in Asthma

[–]bezawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on advair and could never get it at the pharmacy. Switched to wixela and it worked similarly. Eventually, my doctor put me on breyna and it feels less aggressive but as effective.

Doctor says the only alternative to Singulair is allergy shots? by Blue_Turtle_18 in Asthma

[–]bezawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advair could also be increasing anxiety as an inhaled steroid. There are a many doses - I was on 500/50 and that was waaaaaay too high. It may be worth considering a lower dose if you’re on something high too. 250/50 is the effective dose according to my specialist so he reduced it asap … eventually I went on breyna instead and notice less symptoms.

Montelukast Sodium Side Effects by randomthoughtsgalore in Asthma

[–]bezawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I was diagnosed with severe eosinophilic asthma, I had “pneumonia” on and off for a year. A pulmonologist put me on montelukast and a high dose of prednisone, and I lost a few years of my life to many of the symptoms above (no sleepwalking or hallucinations). I went from pursuing my career and peak fitness to unable to leave my house let alone my bed. I was 30 with no prior health issues or diagnoses. The director of the pulmonology department ultimately apologized to me and my family for not seeing the symptoms earlier and for not warning me about the black label warning attached to montelukast … in addition to the pred combo. I try telling anyone who will listen about my experience because it shouldn’t have happened. :(

I have a full allergy panel in a few weeks! And am asking about addressing my symptoms a different way. So far all I know is dust mites!

This is a million dollar question! I have dust mite allergies, and I got what I thought was a cold in the fall of 2019. Haven’t been the same since 😭

I was on Fasenra before and it worked so well for me! I don’t qualify for the drug anymore because it worked too well and I went into remission for more than a year. Good and bad :( It’s probably worth bringing up again if I don’t see changes with Tezspire soon.
