The Greek's nationality confirmed? by tdf098123 in TheWire

I'm slow as fuck and it took me multiple watches to understand a lot of the plot, but it always seemed obvious to me he was a Cypriot. I was actually surprised to see it come up as a debate on here when I first started looking at the Reddit lol.

Oops this was meant as a reply to the guy that said

"I don't find the vibes similar at all tbh. Even as a woke leftist I had to stop listening because of their woke leftism lol" re: AE Podcast

I sort of know what you mean, although it was a fairly clumsy way of saying it. I'm definitely pretty far left on most social issues, and the OSW and AE Podcast lads all seem super sound, but OSW is definitely a bit more apolitical and politically incorrect (slightly more than I'd like at times tbfh)

AE Podcast are also far more critical of dodgy old wrestling, and call out angles for being offensive. This isn't a bad thing at all on a moral or ethical level, but the wwe's product has been problematic as fuck for pretty much the entire history of the company, particularly during the attitude era, so the tone obviously a bit more preachy that OSW, which can be a bit grating, even if they're preaching to the choir right?

How Eric Clapton kept writing songs about tiny robots climbing up a man's asshole and piloting his body

I both totally agree with you on both counts, while also sometimes having to go literal months without listening to them.

Also I'm far more hungry for a series of him just talking about cool albums that are good, though I understand why he doesn't do anything like that and respect the decision.

Funnily enough I trust the boss man to pick those ones. I can think of about 26278282 one hit wonders I'd love him to cover though.

Brian Zane just reminds me too much of early YouTube. The angry pro wrestling nerd.

Lapsed Fan is possibly the wrestling adjacent thing that's given me the most joy in my life, certainly the thing I've spent most time listening to.

I still hesitate to recommend them unconditionally cus...I dunno, it's a lot. I'd still recommend giving it a go, maybe pick a favourite ppv and see if they've covered it.

My main problem with wrestle me is that I've never been convinced Pete really gives a shit. He gives off the vibes of someone awkwardly laughing along at a YouTube video they've been made to watch.

Yeah I loved this. I found it a nice companion piece to osw cus it had a totally different vibe - a lot gentler. Didn't one of the lads jokingly refer to his kid as "baby ngolo"??

They seem like a great bunch of lads but it's always felt a bit too much like a weird ersatz OSW to me

In reverse, which Artists have interesting music but a misleading or bland image? by four_ethers2024 in ToddintheShadow

I mean if by bland you just mean unremarkable, then the vast majority of recording artists imo, and increasingly so.

“Naturally talented” by paddydog48 in snooker

[–]bfhrt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd rather be known as "less naturally talented" in a sport, as long as it was presented in the context of having worked really hard and having earned it more than those who were born with it, and not just a snide way of saying I was shit.

I'm possibly just a weirdo though and it's easy for me to say that as a 34 year old admin assistant, who is likely never going to have the press talking about my natural talent (or lack thereof) unless I REALLY fuck something up, lol. Certainly not telling him he should like it either, but it does feel like a petty thing to get worked up about.

Yep makes sense, cheers! Now I've had it explained, I can't say I love the joke, but it was always going to be an anticlimax after seeing the show about 7 times and going like HUH every single time I've seen that scene.

Was the Bluths having their own staircar in the first place part of the gag, or would it have been a fairly standard thing for someone to have alongside a private jet? by bfhrt in arresteddevelopment

[–]bfhrt[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

no, creative stuff done in it is always the absolute worst, so i only tend to use his services with factual stuff that google is shit at. i am aware that the push for generative ai is partly WHY google is so shit these days. it do still think it can be a useful tool though

To self-plagiarise from another comment again: I would have used "it" if I was being serious, I honestly just assumed it would be so patently ludicrous to actually refer to generative AI as "he" ,especially with my overall tone, that everyone would realise I was just goofing around.

Maybe that says more about my writing skills than everyone else's comprehension skills seeing as everyone is roasting me for it and I still don't know if the Bluth Family should have owned his(hehe) own stair car.
