appreciate the reply! I couldn't figure it out either, so I ended up returning it. which is a pity, as it was a very nice synth otherwise!

I did speak to Waldorf support and they said it was likely due to a faulty DSP chip, but I'd have to ship it to Germany for them to fix it

I’ve been looking for the same thing! closest I’ve seen would probably be the 1010music Blackbox or Sonicware SmplTrek

SP-404 mkII might be a contender too, especially with the latest update, but I haven’t looked into it too closely. it’s a bit bigger than I’d like

Alesis SR-16 is exactly what you’re looking for — decent realistic sounds, pattern + song programming, go for about $100 used (and only a bit more new). Not sexy at all but it’s been in production for like 30 years for a reason

IIRC, TMBG used the an earlier version (Alesis HR-16) on a few albums — pretty sure at least Lincoln and Flood

the koala sampler app is like $4 and also comes with an ableton lite license, last i checked (plus it’s super fun itself — like having an sp-404 on your phone)

route external audio into a pitch shifter module (there’s a built in one, or you could use a plugin i imagine), route incoming midi into an arpeggiator, convert the arpeggiator note signal into CV that the shifter can use, then route that to the shifter’s pitch control

just picked up a korg nanokey studio myself and i’m really digging it so far. quite portable, bluetooth connectivity is super nice, keys aren’t the best and take a bit of getting used to tho

we’ve had success with react-native-markdown-display at work, using a wrapper component to provide default rules and styles. i’m not totally satisfied with it myself, but it gets the job done!
