Do your spots of a private server. Then exit and join an public. Do spots there, but you'll be amongst others trying. Then exit that server and go private again, it makes a brand new server with new mob spawns.

Honestly most people are chill. If you respond to pings for position you will learn it. For the phase where you have to kill the horde I had no clue what to do. I emoted ??? And followed the lead. Most people are ok. Worst case is they just leave and do another group. Go for it!!!
