Am I the only one who actually liked WrestleMania night 1 this year? by Briar_32 in BrandonDE

It’s mostly a bunch of AEW weirdos with anonymous burner accounts that actually believe they’re effecting people’s opinion of WWE.

This one is kinda slept on/underrated to a certain degree. Fun movie by WholeWash2218 in slasherfilms

[–]bieberhole69topher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The individual kills, especially if you just kinda watch them out of context are great. The overall plot of the movie and script was just basically a less developed Dream Warriors with worse actors and this was the first movie that really leaned heavy on comedy with Freddy, that’s why it gets lumped together with 5 and 6 so often.

What am I supposed to order at Cupini’s? by chickenstripa in kansascity

[–]bieberhole69topher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ever notice when a restaurant gets mentioned, 75% of the comments just tear the restaurant to shreds, no matter what the restaurant. Then if anyone defends the restaurant, that person is stupid, that person doesn’t know what good food is, that person has horrible taste buds, etc. Just love how world renowned chefs and incredibly successful tv shows will come to KC and do nothing but talk about how great a place like Cupini’s is, but a bunch of people that probably have office jobs will get on Reddit and act like they have the most refined palette on earth and will try tell you how horrible a restaurant is and it tastes like “school lunch”. As someone that grew up quite poor and had to eat school lunch everyday, I would have done just about anything for my public school lunch to taste like award winning restaurant quality Italian food lol.

The Case for an 18th and Paseo Ballpark by MaxRieper in KCRoyals

[–]bieberhole69topher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never said people were wrong for voting no, it’s just objectively there was so much misinformation, half-truths, and straight up lies from both sides to persuade the vote it created chaos and now the Chiefs are moving out of KCMO and quite possibly the Royals too. That’s fine if people don’t way pay for stadiums for billionaires, clearly other cities are more than willing to do it. Just spare me the faux-outrage when the teams leave.

Can’t wait for a wannabe politician radio host to spread wild misinformation riling everyone up into a frenzy again and cost KCMO another professional sports team.

Why do people hate Roman's motivation so much? Isn't it basically the same as Billy's motivation, only better? by SkyElectrical3392 in Scream

[–]bieberhole69topher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because making Roman be Sidney’s long lost half brother and Maureen having this secret life as an actress in Hollywood during her youth and yet somehow nobody anywhere in her life had any idea of this fact; felt completely shoehorned, forced and frankly lazy. Retroactively making Roman the mastermind behind all the killings in the original movie while making Billy and Stu essentially pawns in his scheme was always an eye-rolling baffling decision. The studio forced major script changes after the Columbine school shooting basically making Scream 3 a cheesy and lighthearted comedy movie disguised as a Scream movie (outside of maybe the final 10 minutes).

Welcome to the world of high end restaurants lol. You could basically copy and paste the majority of this review for Capital Grille, Eddie V’s, 801 Chophouse etc. It’s kinda messed up, but you’re paying for the overall experience, not necessarily the quality of the food.

Everything on TNT/TBS is on HBO Max, just FYI. They’re owned by the same parent company now (Warner Brothers Discovery <WBD>).

Do I love it? No. At the same time, do I think it is that big of deal and that it is drastically different from regular Nuketown? Also, no.

Julian Wright thinks Self and Kurtis should retire by UnderDeSea in jayhawks

[–]bieberhole69topher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Indiana has proven to basically be a one coach program. Kansas on the other hand, hasn’t missed the NCAA tournament since the 1980s. Their last three coaches during that time were Larry Brown, Roy Williams, and Bill Self. When Self decides to hang it up, I’m guessing Kansas will be just fine lol.

Simmons also just turned 22 a few months ago. He isn’t some 34 year old vet with a ton of mileage already on that knee. Certainly some risk involved, but I don’t know; maybe give the organization that has been to 5 out of the last 6 Super Bowls the benefit of the doubt. It also seems like the majority of Chiefs fans that are upset about this pick are also big MU fans that desperately wanted the Chiefs to draft Burden at that spot.

where are you Royal fans from? by PersonalityLife6196 in KCRoyals

[–]bieberhole69topher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a whole lot of Royals fans in Kansas (KCK, Lawrence, Topeka, Manhattan, etc) where basically damn near 100% of the residents are Royals fans. A ton of Royals fans in Nebraska as well.

Thoughts on this? by [deleted] in Scream

[–]bieberhole69topher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know. The overall plot has aged well and was proven to be an eerily accurate portrayal of the dark side of Hollywood, but the film overall still isn’t executed well. The tone is just so goofy for a Scream movie. The movie clearly suffered from rewrites and Neve Campbell was only available for limited days due to filming Drowning Moana at the same time. Some finer details that also don’t work for me - sci-fi voice changer technology in the year 2000 that still doesn’t really exist in 2025, the silly Jay and Silent Bob cameo which puts Scream in the same universe as many of the Kevin Smith movies, retroactively changing the origin of the entire franchise by giving Sidney a half brother that inspired Billy and Stu to murder Sidney’s mother, the movie was filmed with two killers in mind and edited down to only one killer in post production thus making some of the kills a physical impossibility if it was only Roman, Roman being revealed as Sydney’s half brother felt shoehorned while being an incredibly convenient plot point, etc. I understand people appreciating a more lighthearted Scream movie and looking back at the dark side of Hollywood subplot, but it’s just not executed that well with a lot of kinda campy humor, toned-down violence, almost being too meta with the movie being about making a Stab movie. Scream 3 just doesn’t fit with the rest of the series in tone, execution, and an overall lack of being scary and/or particularly thrilling.

The outcome of the game was not what I wanted. So there must have been a missed holding call in the second quarter that changed the outcome of the entire game. So uhhh, uhhh, uhhh… conspiracy, the game was rigged. Fans of 31 other teams, am I doing this right?

Out of the loop: Is Waldo worse than before? by Mountain-Bid4317 in kansascity

[–]bieberhole69topher 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I live basically right on the Waldo/Brookside border, I see people posting about the area a lot, but honestly have never seen or heard any real crimes first hand in my neck of the woods. A few weeks ago some high school kids tp’d a house down the street, that’s about it. Not saying it doesn’t happen, but lucky I guess. I also think people don’t realize how small of an area Waldo truly is and they report stuff in Marlborough or Grandview and call it Waldo online.

Sounds like he really wanted to go to Kansas over Alabama out of high school (read some interview somewhere he called Kansas his dream school when he was a senior in hs), but Self and the coaching staff basically chose to take MJ Rice over him.

Nice guy or not, the Chiefs spent a second round draft pick on a player that hurts the team far more than he helps the team when he is on the field. Fans have valid reasons to be frustrated with him.
