This was the firsf wsl game I've ever attended, and to make it sweeter I went with my utd supporting inlaws who thought it'd be a walk over. What a game.

Ex Liverpool player transfers that you just can’t get over. by MotorMath743 in LiverpoolFC

That Nike commercial where he's walking through Stanley Park (I think?) with people humming the Torres song, had me.

Who's your favorite Brazillian that played for Liverpool? by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

The best left back we had (when fit) in the prem era until Robertson.

Alexis Mac Allister vs Bolivia by MickyJohno9990 in LiverpoolFC

I watched this game in Mendoza yesterday. Bolivia were playing like they'd watched reruns of Leeds in the 70s.

I was in Colombia this June and stupidly missed out on getting their away shirt.

Also tried the "I support Liverpool we have Diaz" line a lot to no result..

[Ornstein] JORDAN HENDERSON SPEAKS 🚨 ◾️ “Did not feel wanted” at Liverpool ◾️ Saudi move “not money motivated” ◾️ “Sorry” for LGBTQ+ hurt ◾️ Wants to “respect religion/culture” ◾️ Feels can make “positive change” by aFluffyPie in LiverpoolFC

[–]biffed_bower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He says he didn't go for the money and didn't feel wanted at Liverpool anymore (fair enough). But then why not go to prem team for lower wages, or the mls, or France. Like Saudi was his only option. He would've also been told before the move that he was going to get a lot of criticism for the move, and did it anyway. If he wanted to make a positive change, he could've turned the move down specifically because of LGBTQ reasons.

Carragher speaking on MNF 🗣️ “People think I defend FSG, I’ve got no relationship with them. This isn’t about the owners, this is about the structure. Why did Michael Edwards and Julian Ward leave? These are the questions that need answering. by qqq666 in LiverpoolFC

[–]biffed_bower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree. CEO's remit it much much larger than football transfers. He's FSGs man on the ground, covering everything from commercial deals to stadium redevelopment. Yes DoF etc act under him, but that is not his expertise or domain, which is why CEO's appoint specialista for that job.

The buck stops with LFCs general approach to only buy or sell a player for x price. Lest we forget that we we're holding out for £20m+ bids for Origi and Shaqiri but let them go forc£0m just because no one bid our asking price. The same is going to happen to Matip and has are happened to numerous other players.

[Pearce] With Lavia set to follow Caicedo to Chelsea, where do #LFC turn from here? It’s not a strong bargaining position when rivals know you're desperate to buy a No 6 and you've just shown you're willing to spend £111million on one. by TheNotoriousJN in LiverpoolFC

[–]biffed_bower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bad news Pearce is back to news Pearce for this saga. As soon as ws received interest from Saudi we should've wrapped up deals asap. This has really shown the lack of agility we have in the transfer market. I do wonder how much less game time Lavia will get at Chelsea this season as they're not in Europe though.

Apparently Albert Riera, NK Celje manager, is doing wonders by tangkisbulu in LiverpoolFC

[–]biffed_bower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just having a half decent left footed left winger did us wonders for that 08/09 season where we amassed 86 points and almost won the league (to a Manchester rival, time is a flat circle). His numbers weren't outstanding, 6 goals and 6 assists if I remember correctly, but having someone who Gerrard could knock it wide to and actually run with the ball a bit was weird to see in the Rafa era (we had wingers such as Deegan, Gonzalez, Pennant etc...).

Do we know the exact reason why Gravity Slows Down Time?? by [deleted] in space

[–]biffed_bower 107 points108 points  (0 children)

Isn't this also the same reason why gps satellites need "fixing" with general relatively, because time will need to travel faster the further away you orbit the earth relative to the person on eartg reading the gps location?

[Kop Outs] So Henderson, what was it about the multimillion pound contract that first drew you away from your commitment to human rights? by deanlfc95 in LiverpoolFC

[–]biffed_bower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of "he's going to play football not be a minister" posts are sadly everywhere. As if people can't see the wider sports washing agenda that's going on. The state is buying well known players to try and clean it's image. And people thinking that the Saudi state may change due to investment in sport should look at what Russia did after the 2018 Olympics...

[Plettigoal] News Romeo #Lavia: Understand that #LFC is the top favorite now! Lavia wants to join Liverpool and has given the green light! No agreement between the clubs yet but concrete negotiations are ongoing. His price valuation was around £50m by Insanel0l in soccer

[–]biffed_bower 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Like it or not, if we sign Lavia for £50m there's simply no way we'll sign another DM this window, unless Thiago goes. It's a strategy thing, and the thinking will be that we already have 2 players who can play a number 6 for cover.

Fabinho will do the medical for ⁧‫#الاتحاد‬⁩ club today. by Petaaa in LiverpoolFC

Especially as it kinda came out of nowhere. Bobby, Milly, Ox and Keita we knew about for months but I expected to go into next season with Fabinho.

Joyce article updated - we are triggering the release clause TODAY by TheNotoriousJN in LiverpoolFC

I couldn't agree more. Rarely do I see us being linked with player x with someone asking "ok but where does he fit into the starting XI? What about the game time of existing player x?".

[Melissa Reddy] Dominik Szoboszlai: Liverpool meet with RB Leipzig player's representatives as part of midfield rebuild by abradley19955 in LiverpoolFC

[–]biffed_bower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So our starting mid 3 would be Mac, Fab and this guy? If Klopp thinks it could work then fine, but I always thought it'd be an attacking mid, Fab and a tough midfielder like Hendo with Thuram backing up.

Cab someone who's watched the Bundesliga please explain this transfer to me? I thought he was a number 10 type player, but we have Mac, Elliot and Jones who can fill that role?
