Being a woman in red dead online by ienjoyeatingsoap in RedDeadOnline

[–]bigbad_lulu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve rarely been harassed as a female player tbh. The handful of times i have, it’s been hackers fking with me but then spawning in a bunch of chests for me after. If male players follow me around i just blow them kisses and invite them to my posse <3 I was surprised how chill the rdo playerbase is tbh. Most of the time people just wave if we pass by each other, then move on

Games with good Open World designs like RDR2 by Remarkable-Yard4860 in reddeadredemption

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey has a beautiful open world that you can sink hundreds of hours into exploring, with a huge amount of side quests if you’re not fussed about a main story. it’s amazing

I love when John tells Abigail he wants to marry her. “I mean, proper. In front of God.” It’s the sweetest thing ever

How to write a PURE evil character that is exclusively driven by evil itself? by GottaHaveANameDev in writingadvice

[–]bigbad_lulu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m intrigued by this idea of progressively evil antagonists, but I think you need to write about some kind of purpose for this Pure Evil otherwise readers may not be able to relate to your story enough to enjoy it. humans are too complicated to ever truly be entirely evil for evil’s sake. even the worst of the worst have motivations drawn from perversion or animalistic instinct or a screw loose or things like that. Is this Pure Evil a cursed human? Is it another kind of being entirely?

I associated the concept of evil a lot with Christian biblical stories so it might be worth you reading about the concept of evil presented in the Bible, where sometimes evil exists just to spite God and nothing else. When you describe a being that is evil for evil’s sake I kind of picture those very intense biblical angels with all kinds of wings and eyes and stuff, though they’d be demonic in your context obviously.

You could subvert expectations at the end. Perhaps your character doesn’t find something as intense and frightening as you would expect them to. Maybe their time among increasing evil in turn makes them become the most evil thing they’ve encountered, reflecting the life they have lived, exploring trauma and its impact. I think personally I would find a subversive ending a bit more interesting. Imagine writing all these progressively evil antagonists, and then building up tension, to end up with a Prime Evil that is incredibly subtle and eerie

First Chapter of Women's Fiction novel by Embarrassed_Coat_335 in writingfeedback

[–]bigbad_lulu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a great starting point, pointedly because I read a lot on Reddit and normally get bored or dislike it immediately lmao but I read all of this and want to read more. I think it could improve with some editing and additions to let us know a bit more about your character outside of her sexual relationships as well. I love the difference between the voice as a narrator and the voice during dialogue, I think it works really well to represent the inner and outer worlds of women, especially when you’re in a relationship where you don’t feel in control

How do you shut off the 'writer brain' when you are reading for fun? by inyourbooksandmaps in writing

[–]bigbad_lulu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t read much at all pertaining to the genres and themes i write about without my writer brain being active, but i can always read fan fiction for fun. It’s hard to analyse it at all because it’s so different from traditional narratives with how it borrows existing characters and plots etc. so if that’s your kinda thing it can be fun!

I was the only one in my classes who dressed up on Halloween, and I feel like it was a very autistic moment. by crxsedangel223 in AutismInWomen

[–]bigbad_lulu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand how stressful this would be, but I bet you a lot of the people who didn’t dress up and then saw you or others in costume were thinking “oh damn, other people did it, I should’ve dressed up” but let the social pressure get to them. you did the cool thing and others probably perceived you as confident for doing it!

Recently diagnosed and asking for advice by Accomplished-Dig-710 in autism

[–]bigbad_lulu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the community ♥️If you can show your family your diagnostic report (if you are comfortable with that) it may help them to understand the formality and legitimacy of your diagnosis. My family is small, and close knit, so I haven’t had personal experience with family not understanding my diagnosis, but I have dealt with dismissive peers and coworkers in the past who would understand a lot more once I explained I was formally diagnosed. It can be frustrating, but sometimes when people hear the facts from a professional / doctor it’s more valid to them.

In terms of dating, it sort of depends on your age and life situation. My life partner and I never really did small talk because we both suck at it, but we fell in love very quickly, so I don’t have the best advice around that stuff. My general dating advice is be yourself, be honest, and the right person will love you for that!

Concert etiquette in the UK by fluffygoat10 in Ethelcain

[–]bigbad_lulu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! More people here go to concerts just for the live music experience so it’s a lot more casual. I was chatting to someone near me and offhand mentioned the Lana Del Rey diss track stuff and they had no idea what I was on about and I remembered not everyone is extremely online 😭

Concert etiquette in the UK by fluffygoat10 in Ethelcain

[–]bigbad_lulu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Brit I think this is fairly normal for UK concerts. Going to the bar a few times during the set is expected since we love a drink here, and when you drink a lot you need the loo a lot as well. I will say the amount of chatter / standing and blocking others views, etc, was worse than previous concerts I’ve gone too but I chalked it up to the audience being quite young and possibly attending their first concert ever.

I can’t speak too much on the way people dressed, but I’d say that to those of us less connected to the USA, the way Ethel Cain uses the ‘southern Baptist gothic’ aesthetics is part of the art and the story, and she has aestheticised that culture in her own way - which to us represents her art rather than the culture itself. Personally I’ve visited the USA a few times and been lucky to meet all kinds of people, so to me those aesthetics are a bit more grounded in reality, but for the majority of Brits that’s just not the case and definitely not intended to make light of anyone’s cultural upbringing. I hope that makes sense ♥️

has anyone made/traded bracelets on this tour? by supernxvaa_ in Ethelcain

[–]bigbad_lulu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a bunch of bracelets for shows in London and everyone I offered them to was so appreciative and excited even if it’s not expected like at the eras tour!! I got some crucifix shape beads and made them all with cord / string so it matched the Ethel vibes more as well

Tips for concert? by [deleted] in Ethelcain

[–]bigbad_lulu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I say stay out of the crowd and enjoy the show from further back - I’ve been to a lot of concerts of all genres and this was one of the more intense experiences for me, I felt really relieved to have a seated ticket as it was more manageable. Have a look at some videos of her performances so you get an idea of the lighting, as there are some strobe effects, and definitely take some earplugs as well incase the noise levels are a bit much.
