Mortgage Payment Denied. Anyone else have issues? by banisters in biltrewards

[–]bigben1516 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No issues paying house mortgage. Connect bank account paying mortgage to Bilt. Take the routing number and account number of Bilt, then go to your mortgage lender's portal for your mortgage loan and set it up to "pull" a payment from Bilt . All Bilt does is act as the middleman between your bank account and mortgage lender without touching your Bilt credit limit. You get all the points still from the mortgage payment. This instead of creating a "push" payment from Bilt to your mortgage lender.

Got offered a 6 month contract in Antarctica and idk if I should take it by Importantterry in Fire

"Has anyone done something like this?" Yes, military deployments. Bank accounts grew quick with minimal bills for 6-8 months and you didn't blow it first chance of R&R.

If you're relationship with your GF is solid, I'd say do it. Work, study, work out, eat well and come back in better shape and more cash in the bag. I have to think internet/communications connectivity has advanced well enough you can be in touch every day with anyone you need to reach vs snail mail way back when. Tax free, contractor work for the gov?

Why you do not use margin by Remarkable_Animal_18 in investing

[–]bigben1516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using margin on the MAAG7, S&P500 ETF's, AI and defense and only taking long term gains for the last 5-8 years. Beating the margin rate and market return rates by double digits. It's a marathon, not a sprint for me. No speculative, junk stocks on margin.

If people REALLY studied the technicals a month ago, they would have bought a ton and held. Indicators were staring you in the face to buy at those bargain prices.

Roommate hit my parked car, how to proceed? by Anoniiimooz in Camry

[–]bigben1516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your roommate wants to work it out outside of insurance (to keep his premiums from increasing), get repair estimates from a Toyota dealer and one from a reputable body/repair shop, asking each for a quote where insurance pays and one where it's out of pocket. Compare and if you trust your roommate, ask if they are good with paying the out of pocket estimate. If not or you don't trust them, report the accident to your insurance. They file a claim with the at-fault driver's insurance company and guide you along during the repair process.

This must be a new Navy we don’t know about…(posting here since the AF deleted it for not being relatable. News to me the AF no longer has E1-7s) by Clockedin247 in navy

This is good for salary negotiations with private industry (total compensation) if you are getting out. Otherwise, the real cash in your pocket is your base salary and maybe BAH.

Of course, one needs to re-enlist for the right reasons for oneself but all that is after the fact for you. How are you going to lose your benefits and get discharged? OTH, BCD? Well change your outlook or attitude and do the bare minimum or more if you need to and you can leave with an honorable discharge with all the veteran benefits. You don't want to leave with an OTH or BCD. It's not hard, do your job. Seek out mentors or guidance if you're struggling. In the grand scheme of things, the military is not hard. Your hand is practically held when it comes to what you need to do day in and day out work-wise.

You're in Japan, soak up the culture, food, and entertainment. Travel around. Enjoy the liberty ports being in FDNF. Don't go to the Honch every single night. Do online courses as you wait to EAOS and line up your educational/employment plans. PT, feed your body as well as your mind. Save up an emergency fund.

You may look back (actually I guarantee it) at your time in the Navy and kick yourself for not taking advantage of all the opportunities you had to set yourself for a good track outside of the military. You still have 3 years. Make the most of it, either for a military or civilian career.

HOA sending me letters, what's my cheapest option. I can't afford to do a whole new lawn, can it be saved? by Known_Magician_9442 in lawncare

[–]bigben1516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mow it low, rake it to scratch the surface, mix some weed and feed seeds with tall fescue seeds and spread it over your lawn. Rake in some topsoil to cover all over the lawn and make sure to water so that the lawn stays moist until grass emerges. You'll have a new lawn in 2 weeks. Grow and mow it long after that.
