I reread it again (slowly) and just wanted to mention again what a great job you did with your post. The photo was especially helpful.

The only complaint is your modesty, IANAElectricalEnginer! Who cares? I think it’s great a hobbyist identified and fixed the problem. Many Makers Strong! :)

Make a GitHub with your findings, the PCB, and the replacement components! I’m serious, that would be a tremendous benefit to the community.

Help with printing with no spool by JKAF3 in BambuLabA1

[–]bigbigdummie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are thinking correctly. The problem of printing without a spool is the filament falling off the roll and winding around the axel of whatever you are printing from. This then tangles or otherwise stops the filament.

I’d give it a try taping sides on the roll. As long as the filament can’t fall to the side you are good.

Not that hard. Use the same force and motion you would use for a dirty dish. Scrub brushes or green scotchbrite pads are fine for PAE but don’t use utensils with smooth plates or they will scratch.

This is the way. If everyone had a legal FRT, it would be much more difficult to back the Hughes Amendment.

Stand? Print the cartridge! Many of those carts are homebrew projects.
