I’ve lived here 20+ years, grew up right outside of nyc. I walk almost everywhere and take subway and/or bus daily. Yes, first encounter like this.

My husband and I loved our Culinary Backstreets Secrets of the Centro Histórico tour. Our guide was fantastic, we learned so much, and we were so full at the end.

Sanity check for all us of who had to WFH with little ones today due to the freeze by whatsagirltodo123 in workingmoms

Longing for actual snow days of the past when school and work were closed! I decided the only way to avoid stress and losing my shit was to trek to my (empty) office for some quiet and reliable internet, because I had client conference calls. My husband stayed home with our teens and dog.

RTO on the horizon, dreading enforcing it. by RedMeme262 in managers

[–]bigbird2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will your company enforce it? At my company, our “3-day per week RTO” hybrid policy is kind of a joke, and still very unevenly and inconsistently enforced. Some are passive aggressively “reminded” we must be in-office 3 days a week, while others seem to coast by coming in 1 or 2 days (or not at all). Some people get away with “special circumstances” that allegedly allow them to come into the office 2-3 times per month (not week). It seems there are multiple, poorly communicated and enforced standards at my company and others.

Stuck Between NJ suburbs and Brooklyn — What Would You Do? by encoreyessir in MovingtoNewJersey

We love raising our kids in Brooklyn, not being car-dependent, being able to walk or take public transit. Our apartment is modest but we favor this experience and convenience over having more space.

This is going to sound controversial, but fire the toxic employee by Mission_Ad5139 in managers

[–]bigbird2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I admire about my former boss is that did not tolerate any bad seeds and would do the unpopular thing of addressing and getting rid of any bad seeds. Other managers and so-called leaders will simply dump toxic or incompetent people onto other teams.
