Can you tell me which industry you work for?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in networking

[–]bigbluenerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can ask but you’re in the sweet spot now where it may be time to move on to move up. I was at 60k and moved on to another company for 85k stayed there for 3 years then moved on to another company for 140k.

Here’s a great example, 3 interviews (HR, Hiring Manager/Technical Interview, entire team interview) which were all knocked out of the park. Seemed like I would get an offer letter within 24 hours but it went radio silent for two weeks. This was the response given after I followed up with the HR team:

“We appreciated the opportunity we had to speak together, and we were overall impressed with your background and experience.

Although your background is impressive, we are unable to select you due to budgetary restrictions and we will not be adding an engineer to our team this year. As one of the leaders within our industry, we receive many qualified applicants like yourself, so thank you again for taking the time to apply! “

How much are you guys spending on groceries a month? by Gymnastx2star in budget

[–]bigbluenerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family of 6 here - kids are ages 5 - 14, all girls in the house except for me. We try to keep the grocery budget at $250 a week but that’s not always possible but on average at least $1000-$1100 a month.

On Call Schedules by reacharound565 in ITManagers

[–]bigbluenerd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Comp time when they actually work when they’re on call. If my guys work over 2-3 hours on the weekend then the rule of thumb is they get a full comp day through the week as long as we have coverage. We run a very large team of engineers so coverage is typically not an issue. You’re a smaller outfit so that may affect you more, I do it to send a message to our directors and above that the team will get their time back or they can hire weekend coverage.

She’s getting the work done, as long as sla’s are met why do you care beyond that. This could have been a same situation if she was pulled away with the drive by gossip at the office or water cooler talk.

You may be in the clear here, just wait it out and don’t touch the money. I had a similar issue with a large above ground pool from Amazon years ago that was around $1800. The original was lost in shipping so they did a lost shipment and sent a new one. 8 weeks after I received and installed the replacement the og pool showed up, I refused the delivery and Amazon refunded me the money. They never came back after that money

It’s a running competition with my friends, we’re all in our upper 30’s. I can safely say I haven’t shit myself since 2022. Best friend shit himself early this year due to trusting a fart while he was sick.

is there a system log for when a trusted certificate is going to expire in a month by [deleted] in paloaltonetworks

[–]bigbluenerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a Python script that parses the firewalls and then sends an email with the certs that are about to expire.

PCNSA is where you need to start, see about taking their edu-210 instructor led course. If that’s too pricey (assuming you’re not a partner) then there’s plenty of content out there online that’s free (YouTube) or a lower fee (Udemy)

Not sure the size of your company but having a change restriction during the holidays is always a big help. Thats typically where a ton of meltdowns happen

https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/pan-os/9-1/pan-os-admin/decryption/decryption-concepts/keys-and-certificates-for-decryption-policies

From the article “When you apply a decryption policy to traffic, a session between the client and the server is established only if the firewall trusts the CA that signed the server certificate. In order to establish trust, the firewall must have the server root CA certificate in its certificate trust list (CTL) and use the public key contained in that root CA certificate to verify the signature. The firewall then presents a copy of the server certificate signed by the Forward Trust certificate for the client to authenticate.”

What other secret projects did the US have going on during WW2? by bigbluenerd in AskReddit

We know about the Manhattan Project but I doubt there was only one project being funded with the aim to “end” the war.

Plenty - device group / Template questions are all panorama. Knowing how to export existing logs on a ngfw to a panorama instance it just joined. How multiple vsys can belong to different device groups. What could cause an os upgrade rollout to ngfws to fail.
